New alternate Jerseys Rumor

I picked this up on another message board

word is Phoenix is tryin to beat them to the title " first NBA team in orange" race.
There also planning an orange alternate with white numerals and letters and purple and jade trim.

Apparently it was mentioned on S&S's sportsbusinessjournal.com a while back.

Anyone else heard anything?

It wasn't tough to guess orange. The only real option were black or orange. But jade got me confused a little bit. Phoenix Suns with jade trim? Orange with jade trim?

Charlotte Bobcats and New York Knicks ( also alternate jerseys) are the other 2 teams that might get orange jerseys.

I don't really like this trend of teams changing their jerseys every few years. Find something that looks good and stick with it for a while.

It is not like the Suns are changing anything, they are adding.

Teams are not allowed to add alternate jerseys until 2 season after they released new home and road jerseys I believe.

Also new jerseys every once in a while makes sure fans buy new ones again.

I agree. But first we have to find something that looks good.

I believe that all of the Suns previous uniforms had personality. The current ones don't! They look too business-like.

Word from someone who's seen the new jerseys (yes, they're orange) is that they look very, very sharp.

I think the best jerseys I've seen the Phoenix Suns wear were the throwback uniforms they wore a couple times last season.

How are they? Are they like the ones we have now, but orange?

I wished our main colours would be orange, white, black instead of orange, white, purple and grey.
I could definately live without the grey. And purple always seemed like a girls' colour to me.

And I agree, the white and orange throwback jerseys looked really good.

I also like the "retro" uni's.

But, those damn high socks have got to go!!

I've never really understood the fashion statement behind the high socks. I mean, having high socks in the 80's was "ok".


But, man, it just looks plain wrong.

Give me ankle socks and I'm good to go.

Yeah, I liked those simple thowbacks a lot. Come to think of it, simple uniforms are usually the best for me. Teams like the Bulls, Lakers, and Knicks stuck to their main design, adding little touches here and there. I wish the suns would go back to those old school unis too.

'PHX' is embroidered across the front in purple. They are tight and I'd hold off on buying a jersey until these come out, they are pretty sweet. "

That's a post from a guy on the ESPN message boards. He's always been a reliable poster in the past.

I love those jerseys - hate the ones we have now -they look like WNBA jerseys - too soft.
