Guess you saw rhe ESPN report. They have to make a move now. Things are not going to get better when everybody knows the coach is hanging in limbo.

Of course the next step in the process has to be the GM vote of confidence that always proceeds the actual coaching change

Maybe. It seems like the time for that was a week or two ago. This tailspin has been dramatic, but not all that sudden; surely management has been following it with concern.

To be honest, each time I refresh this forum, I expect to see a new thread announcing that Hornacek has just been fired.

Yeah that"s the easiest change to make. I don't know if it's his fault but he's lost the team.

He's a nice guy but the team failed to execute under his leadership. I've never seen so many blown leads and late game losses as a 20 year Suns fan.

Hopefully it is not the coach who came over from the Bakersfield Jam, he sounds like an absolute naive nice guy who is not NBA headcoaching material.

He does not have leadership skills, he pretty much said in interviews last year that he also does not think leadership is one of his responsibilities.

If Hornacek never played for the Suns I think fans would have called for him to be fired during the blowup at the trade deadline last season. He's been gifted a lot of goodwill and free passes by the Suns fanbase for the nostalgia he conjures up amongst longtime fans and followers of the team. This seasons poor start falls in his lap though. The team has played woefully uninspired and directionless so far this season with no signs of it getting better under his "leadership", if you can even call it that.

I think the leeway he was given came about because of how greatly we exceeded exceeded expectations during his first season more than his one-time connection to the Suns. Although the connection probably got him the job in the first place. Just my guess.

I'll take a cardboard cutout of Ronald McDonald to coach the rest of the season.

If a new coach is brought in now it, the Suns may want to wait before making trades.

I am so done with Hornacek..He may not have the best team but he just doesnt look like his smarts translated to coaching.
A new coach may also help Kief's value. They can always spin it that he is getting along with a new coach.

Firing Hornacek won't make any functional forwards appear on the team.

The first season was just a fluke season. I think it's becoming clear that the success of the 48 wins wasn't because of Hornacek's ability as a coach.

There was no pressure on that group and some good chemistry between Goran, Bled and Frye.

The thing that gets me is the current team got off to a desent start this year. What happened?

You guys do realize that Sarver is too cheap to bring in a big name coach, let alone pay off Hornacek's contract, and pay for a top coach, right?

As I understand it, Hornacek is an expiring contract so that shouldn't be a problem. But you are right, Sarver has tried to save a buck on a head coach which is a penny wise, pound foolish approach to running a team IMO. I would prefer to spend money on a good GM and a good head coach and reap the benefits on the back by having a well run team.
