Jurecki's take. Gave props to Wiz and Graves for the meeting this morning. Both Dockett and Drew feels confident based on the meeting something will get done. Would not have gone up to camp if he wasn't. Once Dan Williams is done there will be huge pressure on Cards to get a deal done. Again he gave Wiz and Graves props for the way they handled things today.

The meeting might have went good, but DD's tone didn't sound good. I think they told him no new contract until after the season.

After the break Jurecki stated - They did gave Dockett a contract offer today. Was a good enough starting point to make Dockett confident the Cardinals Brass and Drew can work something out.

I picked up "tired after a long meeting" more than anything negative.

Dude was practically falling a sleep in the back seat of his Escalade as he put it he was raised up and reclined back. Dude is being driven to camp by a chauffeur.

Can we re-name this thread to include "& other pre-camp notes" or something like that. I sort of hijacked this thread with a lot of other info besides Dockett.

IMO, it would be better just to split out the other pre-camp notes into a separate thread and leave this to talk about Dock.

I'll make a request to the Cards mods.

maybe so, but if he heard "Darnell, we're going to get this done this year" I think he would have more pep in his step in the interview.

I heard the interview today with DD. He is the coolest, badest Cardinal of all time. You listen to him and you got to smile. Team comes first, contract will come, will talk with Williams today and advise. I would not like to line up against him. I man love this guy!!!!

If Jurecki is out on a limb, can I be the one to saw it off? I can't stand that guy!

This is good news all around. I also give the Cardinals props for getting this to the media. I could be wrong, but I don't recall the Cardinals being this open in previous negotiations with players, especially without it being on the verge of being signed. Good news, Dockett is a foundation piece that we can't afford to let slip away.

He's tweeting again and sounds chipper. "I'm so happy to be at camp and play football I can't sleep!" And he's back to proclaiming his Oprah-love.
