10 TE Vernon Davis, Maryland
31 RB Joseph Addai, LSU (Best Available Selection)
72 OT Andrew Whitworth, LSU
106 DT Barry Cofield, Northwestern
137 QB Bruce Gradkowski, Toledo
167 LB Jamar Williams, Arizona State
201 OC Donovan Raiola, Wisconsin

The mock has Santonio Holmes going to the Browns at #12. That would be a stunner, but with KW2 and the guy they picked up last year, it'd be quite a passing attack.

If the draft were to look like this I'd puke.

Can't say that I would be happy with that. But thanks for the mock.

Really? I'm not sure about Addai either (the BPA selection is a note that a team could trade out of the spot), but if we were to take Whitworth, I'd be more excited than if we'd taken an OT a round higher:

Drew Boylhart said:
Watching this kid on tape is very difficult because he just does everything with ease. Your eye starts to look at other people on the tape because the kid is so efficient and quiet in his play that he starts to bore the hell out of you. I’m watching film of him and stirring my coffee was more exciting. Don’t misunderstand -- I mean all of this as a compliment. Andrew may not be an exciting player, but he's a good one. He is the type of player that might not be rated high by some teams because they're looking for a pure LT and a more exciting player. I think that he will be able to handle the LT position at the next level eventually, but I think the RT position will be more to his liking. After all the juniors declare, he could fall even further down the charts, but the team that drafts him should be able to plug him in their O-line right away at the RT spot; his good techniques and intelligence are things to get excited about. He shows leadership qualities and mental toughness. Andrew might be as exciting to watch as staring at a doorknob, but let me tell you this: he is as efficient as a doorknob is and will shut the door on just about everybody he comes up against. However, it will have to be on the right side, not the left. Right now, he doesn’t move well enough to be on the left but just might be able in the future. Either way you're getting a pretty good O-lineman and believe me, every team needs a pretty good O-lineman!

A lot of the reports on Gradowski strike me as a young Kurt Warner or Tom Brady...

Why? Vernon Davis is a game-changer and not at a position of dire need. I'm not enthused about Addai, but I wouldn't be happy about an OT/OG there, either. I do like the rest of the draft.

Do ya know anything about Cofield K9? Is he a run stopper type?

I'd take jamar williams. He was the heart and soul in the middle for the sun devils, and he layed the wood. I'd spend a 6th on him :)

It's not full of big names, but I think it'd be a decent draft for us.

This is their computer run draft. Where they put in all of the teams needs in order, their own top 250 list of players. And then the computer does the draft based on those numbers along with some other ones.

For example the Addai pick has an asterisk next to it. Meaning that the players value was way to high for any team to not pick him, purely a BPA pick. But the site mentions that picks such as this are prime area's for trading.

10 TE Vernon Davis, Maryland - Freak who has production to back it up. I would be very happy with this pick, especially after FA when a few of the other needs are filled. Has played the classic h-back role in college and Denny loves to use the h-back.

41 RB Joseph Addai, LSU (Best Available Selection) - Prime trade scenerio according to their draft computer but since it doesnt make up trades the computer had to make this pick. So I am assuming in the real world this wouldnt be the pick and would be a trade down or trade up scenerio for another player.

72 OT Andrew Whitworth, LSU - Great Value

106 DT Barry Cofield, Northwestern - Think of him as a younger, maybe stronger Russel Davis. 6-3 solid 305-310 lbs. Very solid 4th round pick.

137 QB Bruce Gradkowski, Toledo - I like this pick. Not exactly the tallest QB, or the strongest armed QB. But he is athletic, productive, does not make mistakes, has all of those intangibles of leadership, film room, toughness, competitor ect. Stats were inflated and isnt a typical vertical passer.

167 LB Jamar Williams, Arizona State - I cant complain about 6th or 7th rounders. I would rather not pick a LB unless it is a great value. But at least this guy is a big athletic LB. Could help ST's.

201 OC Donovan Raiola, Wisconsin - Although a 7th rounder he is a steal IMO. An absolutle technician, great technique and will bite your ankles off. Adds depth to the interior.

I love the selection of Addai at 41. He reminds me a lot of Domanick Davis. He's going to be a huge steal for whoever gets him.

Whitworth in the third would also be a monumental steal and I'd be pretty happy with Gradkowski as a two year project. He reminds me a bit of Charlie Frye/Chad Pennington with better leadership ability.

I find Vernon Davis incredibly intriguing --

its that inconsistent production that scares me at #10--

part of it is I have never seen him play--

and in spite of my status as a true beleiver in BPA, it pains me to see the Cards take him over a real need player like LenDale White

The computer has White going 14, so he couldnt have been that much lower ranked than Davis (I am guessing) --

so I would rather take a player that if he works out, touches the ball 20+ times a game (the running back) vs a TE who at most might touch it half as many times. I know its more complicated than that, but its where I am at.

New updated robo-draft from today:

The Huddle Report said:
10 TE Vernon Davis Maryland
41 QB Omar Jacobs Bowling Green
72 RB Jerome Harrison Washington St
106 DT John McCargo North Carolina St
137 LB Brian Iwuh Colorado
167 OT Jimmy Martin Virginia Tech
201 CB *Dion Byrum Ohio

Um... so even I might kill myself if this was our draft. Dion Byrum would be a steal, though.

I'd actually be pretty stoked about this draft. I'm a little stunned by how quickly Broderick Bunkley is flying up the boards. Though people may complain about passing on Jimmy Williams or whoever. Notice that THR has Greenway and Justice going 18 & 19. They're way overrated.

That is just one of their Mocks. Where does Bolyhart have them going. Especially Greenway. And Bolyhart is the one that gave him the harsh player profile yet he still has him at #12. Interesting to say the least.

We are going to pick the best player at 10

And if Green thinks the best player at 10 is a TE then i am all for it

When you pick for need in the first round you end up with gems like Bryant Johnson and Calvin Pace;)

I agree wholeheartedly. We just need to convince ourselves that a WR isn't the BPA. Not in the first round.

I'm just not seeing DG taking a TE that high..not with other needs that are more important
