This is their computer run draft. Where they put in all of the teams needs in order, their own top 250 list of players. And then the computer does the draft based on those numbers along with some other ones.
For example the Addai pick has an asterisk next to it. Meaning that the players value was way to high for any team to not pick him, purely a BPA pick. But the site mentions that picks such as this are prime area's for trading.
10 TE Vernon Davis, Maryland - Freak who has production to back it up. I would be very happy with this pick, especially after FA when a few of the other needs are filled. Has played the classic h-back role in college and Denny loves to use the h-back.
41 RB Joseph Addai, LSU (Best Available Selection) - Prime trade scenerio according to their draft computer but since it doesnt make up trades the computer had to make this pick. So I am assuming in the real world this wouldnt be the pick and would be a trade down or trade up scenerio for another player.
72 OT Andrew Whitworth, LSU - Great Value
106 DT Barry Cofield, Northwestern - Think of him as a younger, maybe stronger Russel Davis. 6-3 solid 305-310 lbs. Very solid 4th round pick.
137 QB Bruce Gradkowski, Toledo - I like this pick. Not exactly the tallest QB, or the strongest armed QB. But he is athletic, productive, does not make mistakes, has all of those intangibles of leadership, film room, toughness, competitor ect. Stats were inflated and isnt a typical vertical passer.
167 LB Jamar Williams, Arizona State - I cant complain about 6th or 7th rounders. I would rather not pick a LB unless it is a great value. But at least this guy is a big athletic LB. Could help ST's.
201 OC Donovan Raiola, Wisconsin - Although a 7th rounder he is a steal IMO. An absolutle technician, great technique and will bite your ankles off. Adds depth to the interior.
