New jerseys next year?

I heard every team is making changes to their jerseys. I don't really get it. The NHL has a lot more problems than their team uni's and the Coyotes just changed their's...

The Capitals one is real, the Canucks one isn't. The entire NHL is going to a modified jersey style which are made of a lighter, more waterproof material (which they showed in the last All Star Game), but the jersey designs for most teams will not change. The Coyotes should have their new (well, new-ish) jersey at tomorrow's draft.

the NHL loves to run out alternates - it's always been this way with hockey (at least for the past 30 years or so - more like always in my lifetime...........)

i doubt they would change their primary look (which I really like)

In addition to the new jersey style, there will be no alternate jerseys next year. Each team will only have two jerseys.

wow - that's surprising - i wonder if the sharks will keep the black which is popular, but currently an alternate

also surpised the caps would go back to a look that is very similar to one they had previously abandoned

I like both jerseys, real or not, better than the current ones for the Caps and Canucks.

Also, I thought that when the Coyotes unveiled their new uni a few years ago, they had taken into account the upcoming new-style jerseys so they wouldn't have to change it again. Has the plan for the new-style uni been around for that long?

I stand corrected. Capitals fans should wish it was only a concept. I also after digging a little deeper found out the Bruins one is real.

Well that was a let down, they didn't have the new Yotes jersey today after all.

I've been a caps fan since I moved out here. I like these a lot since they kind of return back to the way they used to be. However I think the "eagle" on the shoulder looks too much like a Phoenix Firebird. They should replace that with one of their old school shoulder stars from the original jerseys.

The Bruins jerseys make it pretty clear that a team that wants to keep its current look will be able to for the most part. I had serious concerns about the Original 6 teams, but it looks like things will be okay.

I think all teams will keep their basic look, but some of the striping and lines of the jersey will need to follow the new Reebok Edge Jerseys.

For instance, the cut of the neckline, side panels, etc.

The new Preds jersey isn't bad, but their logo is very minor-leaguish.
