I like Jeremiah, and I think he really nailed it with his latest mock, which has Derek Carr going #20. Naturally, it won't be to us but to the top 10 team that trades up in order to select him.

I kinda like it. Now that the OL looks solidified for the first time heading into any draft I can remember, why not go get a QBOF to sit behind Carson for a year?

20 does look like a sweet spot for teams looking to come back and get a QB if they pass in Top 10.

If he is there, the Cards should take him. Very impressive during the Senior Bowl week.

But he doesn't fit the profile of a deep throwing QB that everyone says BA wants ;)

I think most people do not want him more for the fate of his brother in the NFL and not judging him for himself. By the way, I think David Carr was a classic example of a young talent getting drafted by the wrong team which totally wrecked his mindset and body by being a human tackling dummy while adjusting to the professional game

So a player like jamarcus russel should be a better fit then aron rodgers....
I dont know if u watched him play,he can make all the throws.
And he is by far the most accurate qb of this draft

Personally I think he is the best QB in this draft. He is accurate and has good arm. What really stands out is his ability to read defenses and great vision. When this is looked back in 5-10 years he will be one of the best QB's taken if not the best. I really hope the Cards take him.

Hes a horrible fit for our system

If he is available, wed do well to trade back with one of the top 5 teams in the 2nd round who didnt take Teddy or Manziel or Bortles and gain their 2nd + a 3rd + a late rounder

Thatd be a homerun

The system he played in does not define him because his athletic traits to the position show he could play in a NFL pro system unless your assuming he is not intelligent and incapable of learning a different scheme. There is nothing about him which makes him incapable of running Arian's own scheme. Your citing a reason people often use when a guy has no arm strength and jells in a spread offense of quick passes... Carr has a NFL caliber arm :)

Cardinals are in win now mode there not going to take a guy in the first round to sit. Carson Palmer is our QB for now.

Actually it does define him. We've seen countless QBs who strictly play out of the shotgun don't call there own plays at the line of scrimmage and their countless bubble screens and check downs fail.

Agree. Superbowl is in our house. Believe the mindset of the Cards is to get into the big show while BB Sr. is around to enjoy it. They will pick the BPA that will win this season.

Yup, Drew Brees is another QB who played out of the spread offense in college as well as such failures as BEN ROETHLISBERGER who took a majority of his snaps out of the shotgun formation in college :)

I'm not expecting the Cards to take a high round QB but I wouldn't be surprised if they did either. The Cards might be trying to win now but I don't think Keim is kind of GM that would pass over a QB that they have high on their board. He's going to need a young QB in the not too distant future and if one is sitting there that he really likes, he's going to grab him.

No, I rather name the ones who succeeded because this is a fact that not many colleges run a pro system and not many QBs make it period regardless of the scheme so in any system there are more failures than success. There is no need to even discuss this and use it as a knock on QBs who run a spread or shotgun offense... and you can take Aaron Rodgers, Kaepernick and Joe Flacco who operated mostly out of the shotgun and take those nuggets of insight with you too :)
