The New Orleans Saints have met with an exceptional amount of prospects during the 2025 pre-draft process, including players from every corner of the nation and at every position. However, there are some trends beginning to take hold, and it is clear that some positions are taking precedence over others.
One of those positions is along the offensive line, as they have met with various offensive linemen throughout the offseason, potentially looking to add a future starter beyond this year given they already have a relatively set group for now. The most recent addition to this group is Iowa interior offensive lineman Tyler Elsbury, who met with the Saints and Baltimore Ravens, as was reported by Christina Rivers of Steel City Underground.
Elsbury is one of the most underrated players in the nation, as instead of transferring away from Iowa due to limited opportunities behind multiple future NFL starters, he would stay and earn his letters by being a quality rotational piece. As a five-year member of the team, he played in 50 games and start six, mixing between center and guard depending on what the team needed. He contributed immensely to a strong Iowa running game in 2024, and over the course of his career nearly eclipsed 700 snaps.
His performance during the Iowa pro day was something of legend however, as Kent Lee Platte's Relative Athletic Score formula graded him out with a 9.84 unofficial RAS for his success, putting him at No. 27 of 1,639 guards graded from 1987 to 2025. At 6-foot-5 and 318 pounds he has exceptional size, and posting a 5.15-second 40-yard dash at that size is spectacular work. He was well above average in speed, agility, and explosion testing, which hugely boosted his stock for this draft.
Despite his lack of starting experience, he has nearly everything you look for in an offensive lineman otherwise. The Saints may be an optimal landing spot as well, being able to give him a year to learn the new scheme being implemented behind Dillon Radunz, and then turning the reigns over to him for 2026. Definitely a player to watch out for wherever he is selected, but someone the Saints should keep an eye on during Day 3.
