The New Orleans Saints have had an expansive list of pre-draft meetings recently, primarily surrounding pro days and events during the offseason process. These have been held all over the nation, as the staff splits up and covers as much ground as physically possible to ensure they have a strong grasp on which prospects they may like more than others. This process continued at Ole Miss, with the Saints set to attend their pro day, but they will also hold a few meetings beforehand.

Two reports by Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football clarified which prospects the Saints will meet with ahead of the Ole Miss pro day, which most notably included quarterback Jaxson Dart and defensive tackle Walter Nolen.

Both of these players are considered some of the best at their positions this year, with Dart usually being the third quarterback prospect in most rankings behind Shedeur Sanders and Cam Ward. Nolen on the other hand is usually considered the second or third best defensive tackle behind Mason Graham and Derrick Harmon.

Dart had an exceptional year in 2024, leading the conference and the FBS in multiple statistical categories. He ended up with 276 completions for 4,279 passing yards and 29 touchdowns to 6 interceptions, with a 69.3% completion rate. His passing efficiency rating led the FBS at 180.7, which is absolutely astronomical. While he is a somewhat raw prospect coming from a non-pro style offense, he has many traits to build upon and has shown production multiple times over.

Nolen has been a bit of a different version with the same result, as a one-year player with Ole Miss, transferring from Texas A&M after two years there. In 2024 he left it all on the table though, showcasing every flash of talent he had and producing at an exceptionally high level for an interior player. The Consensus All-American had 48 total tackles (25 solo, 23 assisted), 6.5 sacks, 3 pass deflections, and 2 fumble recoveries. His run defense is spectacular, he is able to get after the passer, and despite it only being one season of elite production, he has shown what he is capable of.

Both players will likely be heavily under consideration by the Saints heading into April and will have a chance to be selected at one point or another depending on how things shake out.
