No clear answer given about the luxury tax in the press conference.

No changes to be made within the organization as yet. Isiah Thomas is not a part of the organization.

No plans for Isiah in the organization at this time in response to a follow-up question.

Mat Ishbia will respond directly when there are changes.

I really didn't learn anytrhing new about the new Suns ownership at the press conference. He did give Robert Sarver credit for selecting him as the owner.

He plans to run the organization like a family.

I like tangible answers to questions. There were not many of those today.
Not sure what you expected. He hasn't been around long enough to say anything substantial.

I for one liked his energy and we would never see anything like that from Sarver. An introduction is just that - an introduction.

Answering the question about the luxury tax was not a hard one.

A simple answer of the Suns will spend to win would have been sufficient.

I missed most of the beginning. What did he say?

Well, I understand the reluctance in a way. Anything he says in public will be a standard he is held to, and I think whether most people are willing to spend tax has a lot to do with the quality of the player you are spending tax on.

He did say that money doesn't trump success. You're right, he didn't say that we would spend over the luxury tax, but he did say that money isn't as much of a concern. Which is almost the same thing.

Other than the mention of Robert Sarver selecting Mat Ishiba as the owner, I didn't learn a lot that hasn't already been said.

The owner is an excellent speaker, but I didn't gather a lot of content.

He plans to grow into the job, provide a family atmosphere and run one of the best organizations around.

He's a new owner and a basketball fan. I'm sure he wants to get more information about the luxury tax first hand before he comments on it one way or the other. He bought the Suns as a tax paying team so I wouldn't be concerned unless he said he plans to avoid it. It's more about spending wisely than spending in general. Paying the tax makes sense if you have players that warrant it as well as a contending team. Where the tax hurts is when you struggle to even make the playoffs and are overpaying players regularly. The Knicks regularly pay the tax and I wouldn't trade spots with them in any way.

Whew he's politician polished. He could sell Ice cubes to Eskimos.

Not gonna judge beyond that, just Show me don't tell me.
