New to the board, cards fan since 1976

That’s one place I would like to visit. I’ve been drinking Jim Beam all my life. My favorite bourbon. Red stag is a new favorite now. I guess I’m getting a sweet tooth in my old age.

I grew up in a whisky family and spent my first 25 career years in the bev-alcohol business.

From a taste/quality standpoint straight whiskies made by Schenley, Brown Forman and Jack Daniels were highly regarded.

Guys I've been looking for an Arizona cardinals message board to get inside info about the coaching search & other fans perspective on our team. I found this one the other day. I love it. I became a cardinals fan in 1976 when they were in st.Louis & played in the NFC east, hated Dallas & it still kills me to see so many cowboys fans at state farm stadium. With that being said, I've seen the cardinals play in person 4 times. 1. 1990 in Joe Robbie stadium in Miami. 2. Drove cross country from Louisville ky (where I'm from & currently live) 1994 sun devil stadium against the giants, buddy Ryan was coaching then. Was going on vacation to phoenix anyways that week. 3. Drove from Louisville 4 hours to st.Louis to watch jake plummer destroy the rams in 1998. 4. Drive 1.5 hours to Indianapolis in 2016 to see them beat the colts. My goal is to fly out there this coming season & see them play against whomever at state farm stadium, maybe the Seahawks? I've had the NFL Sunday ticket since 1999, only way I can watch them play since hardly none of their games are on the national broadcast around here.

Yes, I also remember that Mel gray play. I watched the cardinals beat the crap out of Dallas like 42-6 or something like that on Monday night football, all my grade school friends were cowboys fans so I rooted for the cardinals in that game to be different. Been a cardinals fan ever since. Late 70's Jim hart got old, until we drafted Neal lomax we struggled. I remember one of Neal lomax games in college. Played at Portland st. Saw Brent musburger do the highlights of the game during halftime. Portland st won like 107-0 over some team & threw for a gazillion yards lol. Then the next year the cardinals drafted him.

I was st the famous Mel gray game. That sent the game to overtime . The cards won the toss and proceeded to run the ball down the redskins throats. Jim Otis left. Jim Otis right. And then Jim Bakken calmly kicked the game winning fG. I hung a sign on the wall that said “ Stick it in the Redskins Butz”. Dave Butz left the Cards and joined the Redskins that off season.

That Giants game in SDS was the coldest game ever played in AZ, IIRC, it was snowing at times during the game. My son was like 4 years old and shivering like crazy, but he did not want to go back to the car and miss the game. He sucked it up, even tho the wife was willing to take him to the van.

Growing up in Texas, I only got to watch the Cardinals twice per year. Usually, it was the Cowboys killing us but still a fan. I am not very smart but loyal.

We bought trash bags from the concession stands during that game. It was so cold and wet, it didn't help being in shorts.

Ohhh! key lime pie with just the right amount of sweetness and tartness is so hard to find. The perfect key lime pie is an art. BTW, Cards fan since 1967.
