Why don't the Cards set up a court room in the stadium like the Eagles used to do at the VET. I blame the Cards management for not have enough
police or security at the game. It happens every year, so why not try to
head it off. Best bet, quit playing the team...forever.

Don't forget ASU organized security or the lack of it.

The fight in my section that ended up with cop using his tazer must have been going for 5 mins before the cavelry arrived.

There was no excuse, it was right by the exit to the section, the minders not only saw it but were almost in it. They must have radioed for the heavies immediatly, why did it take so long to arrive ?

Answer, ASU does not spend enougn on security, particluarly at Raiders games.

Im not sure who sets the preseason schedule but I believe that individual teams rather than the league negotiate for games. If thats the case I can see how we get stuck with the Raiders so often. Few other teams want to go to Oakland and few other teams want to come here in Aug. creating this unwanted partnership.
Personally I started boycotting Raider games over 5 years ago. Its not worth the risk of getting blindsided by some moron.
I strongly agree with a previous post and support the idea of o letter or petition to management regarding this issue. There are enough of us on this board that I believe our voice would be heard. Id rather see three preseason away games or a home and home against SD or Denver.

Yes Raider Fans Are Nothing But Trash!

I must say, of all the years I have had season tickets, and everytime i have seen the cardinals play the raiders, we always get the SCUM RAIDER fans here in Arizona. I do not know who is worse, Raider fans or Cowboy fans. I must sway to Raider fans now after last nights disgusting behavior. It was the worst i have seen IN YEARS! They are nothing but low life scum. Well not all of them, i had a few behind me and they were very nice people and we were joking around, but these fights were just ridiculous. This is just a game, its supposed to be fun, not some kind of war or hate. People I guess just have no life and take this sport way to seriously! Anways, LETS GO CARDINALS!!!!

I just relocated to the Valley after a 30 year stint in the NYC area. Got season tickets after having the pleasure of sitting in Section 19 and witnessing up close and personal Poole catch the ball in the endzone on the final game last year. I also loved the spirit of the fans in that section and especially loved the Vikings fans who left early.

I was advised to stay away from the Raiders game as a result of my 115lb sister being threatened by Raiders fans on their last visit here. Decided not to go to this one with my 86 year old father and 11 year old son. Now, I feel guilty for sending my tickets to the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Valley!!

Will be there in force for the Giants and Jets fans in November!!!

Prevention is the key and I hope we get a decent security force at the new stadium.

My worst experience--

at a game was 2 years ago at a 49er game. I sit in the same seats in Section 8, near the aisle that I have had forever. Most of the old season ticket holders all know each other, but now when they don't show these cruisers who go around looking to move to better seats have been showing up, no one checks to see if they have tickets for that section I guess. Usually arrive after too much to drink and rowdy. This game I had a guest from out of town next to me and we were trying to enjoy the game when these morons started up in back of us, then someone in a Raider shirt came and sat next to me with his girl friend. Before we knew what hit us the guy said something insulting to the Raider fan and they started throwing punches and beer was flying everywhere. All I know is my friend and I were pushed out of our seats and I ended up on those cement steps under a bunch of guys fighting and now some of the ones from the next section were joining in, my friend had his glasses knocked off and I managed to get out from under the pile and run down the steps out of harms way. It seemed to take forever for any security to get down to row 16, I suffered a bad knee injury and my friend will never come back here for another game. I told my friends that it was my one and only bad game I had been too and it reminded me of those Soccer games we see in Europe. Later I went up and asked security why it took them so long to come down and that I had been hurt and he gave me a dumb smile and said, Well, lady those things happen at a football game!! Go figure? I now feel like Skorp does, I will never go to a Raider game even though some of the Cowboy games are pretty raunchy too.

from ASFN's Breaking News on the front page, in case you missed it:

"Cardinals show signs of life - August 29, 2004, 10:29am
The Oakland Raiders beat the Cardinals by 1 point in Tempe in a good pre-season game. About 17,652 Raiders scum were arrested last night and are still being processed into Sheriff Joe Arpaio's tent city."

Hey BIM where were you sitting? I was up in that section too.. 219, row 13

I had on my Anquan Boldin Jersey, my buddy had is Jake Plummer Jersey on with Plummer crossed out and Navarre written over it.

I didn't feel unsafe until I was walking out of the game. getting heckled by some gangsters.

We were in Section 226, row 7 or 8.

So all the Raider fans were only 1 year old? Didn't the Raiders just play against Tampa Bay 2 SB's ago?

You missed my point. They weren't throwing up that SB, likely because they were trounced by Tampa Bay. Instead these guys, none of them looking a day over 18 or 19 were boasting about the 3 SB's their team won in what...77, 81, 84?...before they were even born.

Maybe it's just me, my level of self-control, or the fact that I do not drink, but I cannot fathom letting fans from another team keep me away from watching my team play football.

Don't like the Raiders fans? Believe me, there were PLENTY of upper level seats where you could have sat through the entire game and never been in contact with ANY fans period. :D

Did you read the program that they gave out at the game?

If you did, I bet you loved the page where they said:

"50 Year's Ago"....
"10 Year's Ago"....

It most just be a Phoenix thing

im sorry to say it but its true. i went to the U of A vs ASU game this year and was threatned at least ten times by thugs for wearing wildcat gear. some Sun Devil thugs actually came into the UA players guest section and were trying to start fights with player's families when ASU was up by 21. I love driving up there for games from tucson but its always a bit dangerous there.

GO CATS!!

Why would someone who spends high prices for good seats go sit up there where you can hardly see the numbers on the players backs? That is the reason some of us buy the premium seats, if you read my post my complaints were those who just see an empty seat and take it over, that is where security should come in and check for their ticket stubs. I have never let other fans keep me from any of the games, I find it too hot to go to the preseason games and love to give my tickets to friends to enjoy.

You listen to that timeless advice: If you can't stand the heat, stay away from SDS. :D

Heat? After 7pm on a Saturday night? C'mon...

Nothing keeps me from being there, short of a death in the family. Not the heat, the other team's fans, preseason, etc.

If the Cards are on their home field...I am in the stands.

GBR!!!

Brian-

I sit in the 110 degree heat in Sept. at 1:00 in the afternoon, why would I subject myself to more of it for meaningless pre-season games when I can sit in my cool house and listen to it on the radio and tape it on my Cox DVR to watch the next day! I have the best of both worlds without a meltdown, can't wait for the new Stadium!!

So, using your logic, you're going to miss the first two times the Cards play in their new stadium? Since those games will be meaningless preseason games and all. I'm sure you'll have no problem unloading those tickets.

Football is football to me. If given the chance to see it live or watch it on tv, no question I'll be in the stands.

I've been to so many ASU games since the early 80's, all but 2 Cards' games (both preseason and due to deaths), and many Fiesta Bowls and never been involved in a fight or even close to being involved in one. And the heat has never bothered me. If heat bothered me, I wouldn't live in AZ. :D

Just goes to show different fans of the same team have different priorities. That's cool.

Go Cards!!!

The Texas - OU game is played in a part of Dallas that a few years ago became so dangerous that many smart fans were scared to go to the game. People were being mugged and cars burglarized by the 100's.

Fortunately the majority of fans didn't take your attitude. Instead people got together with the City of Dallas and the police and cleaned up the neighborhood.

So I think it is time to start a campaign to force ASU and the Cardinals to clean up SDS. I propose something similar to what schools are doing with their dress codes.

No one is allowed in the stadium if they are wearing any item of clothing displaying the colors or logo of any NFL team other than the Cardinals. :D

You can also get up, go to a security person and tell them when you see someone take an empty seat that is not theirs. They will go and ask for tickets, but they can't possibly monitor every fan's actions without some help.

I have to report people for smoking nearly every game. I sometimes ask them politely, advising them that there is no smoking allowed in the stands, but that usually is greeted with a "Shut the f$%# up with that s$%#!" Classy.

Hopefully the new stadium is completely non-smoking (sorry to all those at the halftime meets that smoke :D ).

Apples and oranges.

If Tempe was a crime riddled gangland like that area you described near Dallas - things might be different. :D

All I was saying earlier was - if you were at a game and your section became "too rowdy" - you do have the option of moving, and not necessarily to the nosebleed seats, especially at a poorly attended preseason game.

Both sets of idots have yet to figure out that you don't scream and cheer when your own offense is on the field. I've sat backa nd cackled as Raiders and Cowboys fans tried to out noise the chants of "Defense." Good stuff.
