Now, the guys who started all the crap are to blame. I just wonder why security let a knife get into the stadium? I guess they can be hidden pretty easily. Also, if more Cardinal fans go to the games and keep tickets AWAY from Raider, Cowboy, 49ers, Eagles fans the less violent, in theory, the games would be. But alas, until the Cardinals win and build a large fan base people will be scared to go to a knife fight, er, I mean football game for fear of seeing so many opposing fans. In the new stadium I hope that the lower bowl is ALL Cardinals season ticket holders and that they have an unwritten but spoken rule about never giving away tickets to anyone other than family memebers and/or Cardinals fans. I really think more security needs to be added for Raider, Cowboy, 49er games.

Raider fans by nature are out to prove that they are bad. A few years ago in Flagstaff we had a scrimmage with them, Not only was there fighting in the stands but the scrimmage had to be called off for all the player fights intigated by Raiders for the most part. This past week I had my grandchildren with me I'm in section 8 11 rows off the field and all they remeber from this game were all the fights and the cursing. Unfourtunatly there si nothing you can do about. But if we never ever saw these people again in our house it will be to soon.

If Tempe was a crime riddled gangland like that area you described near Dallas - things might be different.

But Brian, from what I've heard about the game Saturday night, Tempe WAS a crime riddled gangland area for about 5 hours. :D

I can't wait for 2006, when my road trips will take me to the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum for a Cards-Raiders game.

Don't like the Raiders fans? Believe me, there were PLENTY of upper level seats where you could have sat through the entire game and never been in contact with ANY fans period.

I can't wait for the day that the only seats available to the other teams' fans are those upper level seats in the corner of the end zone. THEN we won't have to put up with them at all.

This is why I always disagree with the idea that the Cardinals need to get "tougher" uniforms. It's actually unfortunate that the Raiders attract such louts, when their uniforms are actually the most similar to the Cards in simplicity and tradition.

In any case, the Cardinals are going to be vulnerable to this until they have a solidified fan base. A half-empty stadium attracts antagonists for the visiting team, especially when they think they can push around the home fans. I enjoyed Giants stadium because even though they were all Giants fans, they were mostly season ticket holders, knew each other, liked seeing each other, etc. Plus visiting fans basically weren't coming to the game to push people around, since the sold out stadium prevents them from roving around and taking up space wherever they want. I'm sure the new stadium will do a lot for the Cards.

Guys, it's not because the Raiders wear black that their fans are jackasses. That could be the largest over-simplification I've ever heard.

Someone got stabbed? That is ridiculous that you have to worry about getting stabbed at a football game. Especially a HOME game. Who got stabbed and are they all right? What section was it in?

Cardinal fans, all 20000 of us, should lobby the Cardinal front office and NFL to never have another Raider game in Arizona. It is bad enough we have to put up with all the Cowboy wannabe gangbangers, but if people are getting stabbed at the games now, it is time to draw the line.

I think the NFL Should force the Raiders to change their name and their colors. They promote gang violence and someone getting stabbed at the game is just another example.

Absolutely Pathetic. There were times when I didn't really feel safe at the game with gangsters with hairnets sitting all around me.

The Raiders do not promote gang violence, Gangs Do. It wasn't until the early 90's that the Raider Nation started to be associated with gang influx. Many gangs across the nation have adopted sports paraphenalia as their colors, it's not just the Raiders gear either. For us hear in AZ we have a higher Hispanic Gang population and many of them have adopted the Raiders gear as theirs.

Yeah, but then they'll just throw crap on us.

Friggin felons.

I got into it with a group of losers. One guy was jawing at a Cardinal fan & his daughter & I singled him out in front of his buddies. The whole group was getting in my face & I told them I didn't have any beef w/anyone except for the guy who was swearing at this 50 somethig guy & his 12 yr old daughter.

The guy was a chicken sh**. He hid behind his buddies & acted all gang tough. A few of his buddies realized what was going on & told him tochill - that it was uncool for him to be a jerk.

Out of the 40 +/- guys in their group, 35 were punks & 5 were ok.

I cut myself off at 3 beers for the whole game, or else I would've been more apt to go after some of those punks.

I've been harping on security for Cardinal games for several years now. I think it contributes to the ever diminishing fan showing. Maybe not as much as the poor teams, but it is definately a factor.

Here is a thought, if you know that you historically have security problems when certain teams come to town, increase your security.

Anyone happen to see the ratio of cops vs. delegates at the Republican Convention in NY this week.... 16 policemen for every 1 delegate.

Go Cards!!!

I have a great solution. If you come into the stadium wearing a Cardinal jersey, you get a pair of tasers and a gun belt. If you arrive in Raiders gear, they paste a bulls eye on your chest.

Simple, but extremely effective.

Sort of like the bar down the street from my house. They check you for weapons when you come in and if you don't have any they loan you some.

I was watching you Maddog.

Thought I might need to get your back there for a while.

Those were the faider fans that got "beered." For some reason, all of a sudden beer, water, and soda cups started flying into that area of raider fans. I've never seen that happen before.

They cut off the beer sales in the middle of the third quarter, never seen that happen before either.

When we got to our seats, we were greeted by a face painted faider fan, in a group about 30 rows below us, back to the field, giving us the double one finger salute.

Classy!

Speaking of Cowboy fans: The Cards are scheduled to play the NFC East at home in 2006. Teams involved will be based on records. Anybody want to bet on who will be the Cardinals opponent for the home opener in the new stadium if the Cowboys are on the list?

We don't play the entire division at home. We only play one team from the NFC East in 2006 and it is to be determined based on results of the 2005 season. (ie. if we finish second in the NFC West in '05, then we will play whoever finishes second in the NFC East.)

Go Cards!!!

I forgot to mention-

that fight at the 49er's game that sent me and my friend sailing out of our seats did injure my knee, a double meniscus tear which I had surgery on last March. Now I have something in common with Anquan, I had an old dance injury on that knee, that was finally done in by that unfortunate day that was supposed to be fun, but ended badly by some thugs. I heard today from my friends I gave my tickets to for last Saturday's game and they said there were fights all around my seats. I sit a few rows behind "Seesred" in Sec.8. I feel bad that you can't take your grandchildren to a football game without subjecting them to the actions of such lowlifes.I thought we go to games to watch football. :(

Well then we won't play Dallas unless they win the NFC east next year.

One thing I noticed was the police were scared of these clowns! We had some words with the Raiders fans and so did some others in the Southendzone, and just like last week, we were the ones diciplined!

The fact is there are not enough diehards at our games so clowns from other teams can come in and act a fool. Security wont change that, it will just ruin the game for everyone. Once there are at least 50% of the fans in attendance cheering for the Cards, these goof balls will realize that they might come out on the losing end if they start it up. Saturday they knew they had the upper hand and they played into it.

Most of the Raiders fans in Lot D looked like they just got released from LA County, but really they were all pretty civil during the tailgate before and after the game. I was suprised!
