The cardinals have done so much that is right during the off-season.

Our defense. RBs, and special teams will be good enough so that we'll go as far as Palmer and the o-line can take us. And, if it were '08, I'd say that we could make a similar run like the Warner-led team did.

But SF has turned into a monster, and SEA is has put-together a good squad. I know it's not pleasant to hear, but we're probably going to have to be better across the board just to compete for our division.

Still, based on the results of this off-season, I have confidence that this regime will avoid the critical and costly mistakes made by "The Whiz" and Graves (Derek Anderson Ken? Really?), and this organization, in it's current state, can get us back to the ten-win level, and the playoffs.

I have several Steelers fan friends who think otherwise. His down the field system causes alot of sacks. Which is understandable, QB has to hold the ball longer so the WRs can get downfield. Specifically his stubborness came up. Like we all know how he hates FBs so much that he traded away a team captain. That same stubborness to his system leads to predictability because opposing teams know he only has a set number of play options. (vice versa would be the 49ers and their infinite options of offense, and we saw how well they did)

i dont care either way. Im more or less just summarizing their words.

But I worry just how bad it may be for us if our line isnt fixed. A system that leads to lots of sacks, with a an old fragile QB and a turnstile O line.

I dont think CP is fragile really, especially compared to our last QB.

It is his QBs perogative to hold onto the ball of dump it off underneath. Roethlisberger and Luck had a high number of sacks because they chose to take a shot downfield, but Arians offense does come with underneath routes to fill the void created by the vertical concepts.

Sacks are mostly on the QB, unless it is a jailbreak.

Not according to the Wiz bashers that blamed his schemes for a lot of the hits & sacks :D

Well he is the guy who hired Daryn Colledge, Rex Hadnot, and Adam Snyder to work as Guards.

The main difference between Whis and Arians is that Whis didn't run as many isolation concepts which allowed teams to gameplan to stop Fitzgerald. Arians, like he did with Reggie Wayne, will scheme to get Fitzgerald open in various ways which will prevent Fitzgerald from getting taken out of the game.

In the end, it comes down to the QB. The QB makes the decisions and is responsible for getting the team in the right play against the defense that is being played. If the QB isn't doing that, it is a problem. If the coaching staff isn't allowing the QB to do that, it is a problem. Then it comes down to the QBs ability to execute, and that is solely on the QB. For whatever the reason, this didn't happen under Whis after Warner retired. Hopefully, under Arians, this changes or he too will be moving on.

Meanwhile Fitz goes over 1400 yards receiving and averages almost 18 yards per reception by far the highest of his career in 2011 2 years after Warner retired with basically the same bums that played QB the next season.

You gotta love Cardinal football.
