Off season moves: Bottom line we are stuck until the Beal contract expires. Expect a KD extension for two more seasons. Might as well match the remaining Beal contract. Probably going to waste a pick or two on moving Nurkic. I'd rather keep the picks and trade his expiring contract later, even if we are just dumping him. Tyus probably moves to a new team. Hopefully we used both of the 2025 picks in the NBA draft similar to what we did getting Dunn and Oso. Probably use them to move Nurkic though. I am not expecting anything earth shattering to happen.

I think we need to move KD. Book and Beal are still somewhat young. The offense is tons better. Move KD for length, youth with some high ceilings that can work their way into the lineup. We are small, slow and unathletic. Last nights loss to OKC showed some flashes.

As bad as things have been, 8 through 11 are almost tied, the wolves are right there as well at the 7th spot. We need a jolt, just like the warriors will get with Jimmy.

Right now, every team in the top half of the playoff standings thinks they have a chance to win a championship as constructed. All but one of those teams will come up short and the rest will be looking to make moves to get to the top of the mountain.

I know you said as presently constructed but I think you can use this same point to justify blowing it up right now, given that there are multiple teams that think they are in reach of a title. And with injury prone and aging players, the sooner we move them the better. Having said all that, I still wouldn't make a bad deal just to make a deal.

I think the problem is that you can't blow it up- you have no picks, and you have the worst contract in the league that you can't trade. Hell, you can't even retool. Can't rebuild because you have no picks, and you can't retool because you have awful contracts.

There is no easy path forward but I do believe blowing it up is the least horrible option if we truly want to eventually become a contender. If winning it all is no longer the primary long term goal, staying the course and making smart trades could keep us in the 30 to 40-ish win range for the next decade or two. I know it won't seem as binary to many here but for me, I'd rather be horrible for a few years with a chance of becoming a contender than mediocre pretty much forever.

I think our greatest asset is an owner willing to spend but the current structure has negated that asset. So, get rid of every player that has value and once we've cleared our cap, use our owner's wallet as a facilitator to acquire draft picks. None of them will rival the picks we gave away but shrewd drafting along with a strong player development program could shorten our misery to just a couple years. Even then, best case scenario probably is that we're a projected 25 to 30 win team going into the 27 season but with a watchable roster of Dunn's and Oso's.

I was trying to make the point that staying the course only sort of works if we also start making smart trades. I'm not in favor of staying the course, to me it prolongs our non-compete era even though it might reduce our time at the absolute bottom. But to me, just being able to avoid being horrible isn't a good enough reason to go this route.

They only make 7M and 8M, we were lucky to get JO for Richards. I don't see many other pieces out there that will move the needle. And the open roster spot is filled.

I would have preferred Okogie back. Martin doesn't move the needle. I was slightly optimistic it was his brother Caleb, former Heat player but now in Philly, as I get the two confused since Caleb left Miami. So very Suns to end up with the lesser brother, again.
