The 2025 NFL draft is roughly one month away and everyone is anxiously waiting for NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell to say, "With the first pick in the 2025 NFL draft, the Tennessee Titans ..." and either announce a trade or the player the Titans decide to draft.
The Titans' free agency activity points to them likely drafting a quarterback since they haven't added a veteran to the roster, but the team remains mum on what their plans are for the top pick in the draft.
Miami University has its Pro Day on Monday and top quarterback prospect Cam Ward is slated to throw for scouts after not participating in the NFL Combine drills. Tennessee will have a delegation in attendance at this Pro Day, and despite some experts doubting the Titans will select Cam Ward, ESPN's Jeremy Fowler says that momentum is building for the Titans to do just that.
"The Titans certainly will have their calvary over there at the Pro Day, and the sense around the league is that there is some momentum for Cam Ward at No. 1 overall," Fowler says. "Now, the Titans have not made a firm determination; they want to go through a very thorough process leading into the end of this month and early April to find out who their guy is. But I was told during the interview process, Cam Ward [acquainted] himself well with the Titans.
"They felt like he was good at identifying mistakes and how to correct them and that he's going to be coachable and he's already got the upside with the ability, so there's some good vibes there between Ward and the Titans right now.
"They would love to trade back in a perfect world, or at least that's been a thought, and still get the quarterback they want. That could be tough in this draft, so it's possible they just stay put and get the best quarterback. The sense around the league is that he has separated himself from the rest of this class at his position."
It's not a secret that the Titans are desperate for an upgrade at the quarterback position, but is Cam Ward really the answer? Or will the Titans try to nail down Russell Wilson or Aaron Rodgers? Or will they rely on Will Levis one more year? They definitely have options, and what they are thinking remains a hot topic around the NFL.
