While I hate they signed him, this further screws the Steelers with Diontae Johnson.
Wonder if they got the “using him as a RB” thing figured out. Since he said he wanted to be paid like both if they were gonna use him that way?

Depending on how it's broken down, they could be at next year's cap already with only 44 players under contract. Since they only have a $1 million in space for this year, they can't use anything now to lower that $25 million a year this year unless they can clear Jimmy G money.

My understanding is he wanted that to stop because it shortens his career. I'm guessing if they made up and paid him that he got them to agree to stop doing that so much.

Not many players stay in the kind of shape during the offseason than Chandler does. He knows his body well, so I doubt if there’s real concern there. There’s no way it would have been a smart move to extend Jones, but I expect him to have a very good season in Vegas this year.

We were right to not bring back CJ. We were wrong in how we "replaced" him.
I know I was one after that first game that cried "PAY THE MAN"...then there were 16 more games (or however many he played in) and was...welp, missed it on that one. I think he was better last year than some but not at the bag he got from LV. Good luck to him and good luck Cardinals with those "replacements".

Honestly, pass rush is my biggest concern in defense. I think we'll bring in another CB who will start and one of these DL bodies has to be a decent rotational guy. But pass rush is relying on an ok veteran, an UDFA whose had like 2 good games and a major knee injury and rookies! Maybe we get lucky and it all clicks, but not likely.

Yes, but we should have traded him last year and got something for him.
You wanted to trade our best pass rusher when we were still a SB contender? Remember, the trade deadline was before the wheels fell off

We were 8-1 at the trade deadline and a AJ Green miscues from bring 9-0.

I'd slot both Golden and Kennard as "okay veterans." You'd prefer to see one more guy who at least has a track record as a productive pass rush specialist. Maybe you bring in JPP as a guy who never has to come to practice? I'd say Trey Flowers but he was pretty bad in Detroit the past two seasons.

Is Carl Nassib really cooked? I'd love to have him in as a rotational DL.

I forgot about Kennard. Good call! Slightly better than I thought, but not much. JPP and/or Nassib are definitely worth flyers at this point!

No. I'd have traded him long before the season started.

I doubt he cares anymore. WRs are the ones getting ridiculous money this offseason...

Ok so on the radio today they said he does have RB incentives in this contract that can inflate its value by quite a few million. Apparently If he runs for over three rushing touchdowns in a season he gets $100,000 bonus if he gets over a certain amount of yards/Carries in a game he gets a $50,000 bonus etc…. So he defi got more Money negotiated in. Good for him.

The whole bonus is max $1.8m over 3 years. Hardly seems worth risking the injury and shorter career for.
