NFL morning after: The Cardinals are for real

It’s a little hard to remember now, given their ugly performance in the playoffs, but there was a time last season when the Cardinals looked like the best team in the NFL. Maybe they were. And maybe they are.

The Cardinals improved to 3-0 with a dominant win over the 49ers yesterday, and they look like real Super Bowl contenders. They’re the best team in the NFC right now.

They were the best team in the NFC last year, too, until Carson Palmer got hurt. They were 6-0 last year in games started by Palmer, and they were still a very good team even when second-stringer Drew Stanton went down: At the time they lost Stanton for the season, they were 11-3.

Red hot Arizona. Cardinals are 3-0 for 2nd straight season, first time franchise has done this since 1923-24 when team was in Chicago. 12m

On NFL network's GameDay final last night, when the Cards came up, Deion said we're the 2nd best team in the NFC, behind GB. Faulk then says so why do we only show 2 of their highlights? Discussion ensued, with Marshall saying, "They're the Cardinals, they aren't sexy, it's what we do," and Deion saying, "They have one of the best offenses in football, they're good on defense, good everywhere, how is that not sexy?"

The Pats were laughable before their Super Bowls, hey had a historically awful uniform in my opinion at least and not much if any success other than a bit when Drew Bledsoe was there.

Then it all changed.

Realistically I don't care about the media but I did notice more and more references to the Big Red.

They are a cool looking team when they are dominant it'll all change if they win.

Since I moved away from Phoenix, I am the only football Cardinals fan the majority of my friends have known personally. I actually think the general perception of the Cards for the last decade has been neutral-to-positive. But that doesn't mean ratings. We'll get there!

This is true for me as well, and I left Arizona following the '92 season. I can probably count on one hand the number of Cardinal fans I've met over that time.

Go Cards!!!

At the bar among fans of other teams on football sunday that's the general attitude towards the cardinals. Neutral to Positive. The attitude towards Arians is positive to man love.

There's a general impression from fans of other teams fans in the bar they want the Cards to win.
