It's going to be really fun to see Jimmy G. at the Senior Bowl. I'm and Eastern Illinois alum so I am really pulling for this kid. I would be elated if the Cards pulled the trigger and brought him in.

Jeremiah says that right now most NFL people see Jimmy G as a mid 2nd round pick who has a chance with the Senior Bowl and Combine to make his case to be a first rounder.

I like him and the more I have looked at him I like what he does more but I have only seen him play two games and the rest is off of highlights. I'm hardly a scout, but this draft seems to be solid with QBs and if not starters, a good selection of QBs that actually can be developed. It is going to be hard in my opinion for the Cardinals not to take a QB in the first three rounds, as I believe a lot of NFL teams might be drawn to do

My take:

first round qbs are Bridgewater, Manzeil, Bortles & Carr

2nd, 3rd & 4th rounds: Mettenberger, McCarron, Garrappollo & Boyd.

Key question is do the Cards like any of these and what round would they try to get a qb. IMO the one that fits Arians system is Mettenberger.

Lots to talk about over the next several months. Ratings will change after senior bowl, combine, workouts, etc.

Lot's to ponder before the draft . Past draft's tell us that some QB's will be taken early , that should not have been . Which ones will it be in 2014 ? Then there is that absolutely forgotten QB named Murray , not likely that Murray , and Mettenberger will do any of the workouts .

I like them both for different reasons. Very possible one could wind up here.

Agreed 100%. Pure pocket passer with an accurate, strong arm. Can take a beating and has poise in the pocket. He seems a bit slow in his drop backs, if he can get that up to NFL speed, he should be a very good NFL player. Unless there is a run on QBs, I'd think he'd be available in the early 2nd round, though is probably gone when we pick.

I really want us to pull the trigger on a developmental guy this year, even as soon as the first round. Like some others here, I think Mettenberger is a solid fit.

I don't know. In todays NFL it seems to be a prerequisite to be mobile.

I don't pretend to know anything about college talent except for what I read here, but I kinda think any qb we happen to pick up needs to be somewhat mobile, accurate....and healthy.
