On every game day this season, THN Fantasy will highlight players and goalies for fantasy managers to stream or roster for the rest of the season. The recommended players and goalies are rostered in less than 50 percent of Yahoo leagues and can be selected in standard fantasy leagues or for daily fantasy games.

Goalies
Calvin Pickard, EDM at NYI (9% rostered)
I have mixed feelings about the Oilers, who are playing the second half of a back-to-back on the road. I think they’ve generally done a good job of limiting shots, which bodes well for Pickard, but I also think their offense has dried up and lacked urgency in the final minutes Thursday against the Devils. I do like Pickard in this matchup, though, who has been strong on the road this season (10-3-0, .911 SP, 2.53 GAA) and faces a team that has trouble scoring most nights.
I think Pickard will bounce back very strong after getting pulled in his last start. The Oilers are struggling but at the very least I expect this game to be close. I think the Oilers win this one and Pickard starts to get more looks down the stretch, giving him some more ROS fantasy value.
Karel Vejmelka, UTA at SEA (42% rostered)
Vejmelka will likely get his ninth straight start, which worries me a little bit because he’s never had a workload quite like this. However, I think Utah has the edge in this matchup in net. Joey Daccord looks fatigued and has a .864 SP and 3.68 GAA in March, and they needed late-game heroics to beat the Habs in their previous game.
The Kraken are not a particularly good team at home (15-15-4), and given their goaltending woes and general inability to score many goals, I like Vejmelka in this matchup. I think Utah can provide enough goal support for him to win, though I’m unsure he can provide a good save percentage.
Petr Mrazek, DET at CAR (11% rostered)
Per Red Wings broadcaster Daniella Bruce, it looks like Mrazek will be in net for the second straight game. That’s a really interesting decision because I don’t think Mrazek was super sharp against the Sabres despite the 7-3 win, and it also means the Wings either aren’t interested in a rotation or have very little confidence in both Cam Talbot and Alex Lyon. The upside: This is a revenge game for Mrazek and his career numbers against the Canes (7-6-1, .928 SP, 2.63 GAA) is very good. The Canes have won five straight and does anyone really have confidence in Mrazek?
The Canes are favored by quite a margin (-230 to win, per NHL.com’s odds as of Thursday evening) and they’ve won five in a row against the Wings, limiting them to just five (!) goals during that span. Based on Mrazek’s numbers he should have a strong game, but the Canes have a ton of momentum. You’re hoping Mrazek stops a lot of shots and offers a good save percentage.
Lukas Dostal, ANA vs. NSH (44% rostered)
The main danger with this matchup is the Preds offense, which can be really bad or really good. They come into this game with a four-game winning streak but scored just three goals each against the Hawks and Sharks. Meanwhile, the Ducks have lost seven of their past 10 though scoring goals hasn’t been a big issue.
Whenever you’re streaming Dostal, the one thing you’re looking for is saves. I think Dostal can provide that, but given how the two teams are trending in opposite directions, I’d steer away from Dostal if I’m looking for a win.
