Things are still fluid but hearing as of now it’s basically Colorado and a unidentified team in the running for UFA winger Joonas Donskoi.... I don’t think Edmonton and Buffalo are in anymore but again, things are fluid

Oilers acquire veteran Neal from Flames
Los Angeles (AFP) - The Edmonton Oilers and Calgary Flames traded a pair of high-priced forwards Friday in a deal that sees James Neal and Milan Lucic switch allegiances in the Battle of Alberta rivalry.

The Oilers dealt underperforming Lucic to the Flames for Neal, who won a silver medal with Canada at the 2009 World Championships in Switzerland. Calgary will also receive a third round draft pick.

Neal, who guided the expansion Vegas Golden Knights to the Stanley Cup finals two seasons ago, is the more likely of the two to have a bounce back season next year.

Rangers agree to contract terms with new defenseman Trouba
NEW YORK (AP) -- The New York Rangers have agreed to terms with restricted free agent defenseman Jacob Trouba, who they acquired from Winnipeg in a major offseason trade.

The deal reached Friday with Trouba, 25, is for seven years and $56 million, with an $8 million salary cap hit for the upcoming season. He is expected to anchor the team's defense.

A 2012 first-round draft pick by the Jets, Trouba set career highs in points (50) and assists (42) last season.

Devils acquire Gusev from Vegas for draft picks


NEWARK, N.J. (AP) -- The New Jersey Devils acquired left wing Nikita Gusev from the Vegas Golden Knights and signed him to a two-year contract with an average annual salary of $4.5 million.

The Devils sent a 2020 third-round draft pick and a 2021 second-round pick to Vegas in the deal announced Monday.

The 27-year-old Gusev has spent his entire professional career in the Russian Kontinental Hockey League. He is a four-time KHL All-Star who had 17 goals and 65 assists for SKA St. Petersburg in 2018-19.

Gusev has 119 goals and 213 assists in 391 career games.

NHL top goalie Vasilevskiy signs extension with Tampa Bay

Andrei Vasilevskiy[/a], last season's Vezina Trophy winner as the National Hockey League's top goaltender, signed an eight-year contract extension with the Tampa Bay Lightning on Monday, the club announced.

The deal, worth $76 million, keeps the 25-year-old with Tampa Bay when he could have become a free agent next July.

"I'm very excited to sign this extension," the Russian backstop said.
