Saints, Eagles, and Vikes have to lose one game for us to clinch. Eagles got Giants and WFT twice, Vikes got the Rams, Packers, and Bears (oh my), and the Aints got the Panthers, Dolphins and Falcons.

I don’t see Eagles or even the Saints losing and Vikes got the hardest schedule of them all. Vikes lose and we in. We should’ve took care of our business to control our destiny but it is what it is.

Edit. Oh wait all three has to lose Sunday??

We do control our own destiny. Win a game and it doesn't matter what anybody else does.

No. Only one of them has to lose, due to the Niners loss. Nine chances for that to happen.

Let's win tomorrow and stop with this crap. We could then move onto division and seeding.

Seriously. I badly want to WIN and get in. Totally falling apart and hoping other bad teams do the same is a carbon copy of last year where all we had to do was win one game against JV versions of teams to get in the playoffs and keep that terrible Bears team out of it. Watching a replay of that debacle would blow.

He was awesome but that one play where he pushed the safety completely down to get open was comical that the refs didn't call OPI.

I mean his selection of players like jimmy g and lance. Everyone here believes those were driven by him. De facto gm.

Well to be fair they were literally 0-8 when they traded for Jimmy G because CJ Beathard was the Qb. He got 3 more starts and at 1-10 they made the change to Jimm and then won the last 5 games of the season with him. Jimmy got hurt early the next year and they fell apart.

But they HAD to get a QB and at that time Jimmy was the best player available. I don't know who made the call but they probably thought none of the QB's in the next draft are sure things, Mayfield, Darnold, Rosen, and they got a quality OL in McGlinchey and got a QB.

The problem is he's just not good enough, and he can't stay healthy.

I don't know who chose Lance this year the media says Shanahan did so I assume that's true that others wanted Jones but he wanted Lance.

He MIGHT still pan out but the problem they had IMO is they have a contending caliber team right now, if they could keep guys healthy, but they took the least NFL ready QB by far in Lance so they're stuck with Jimmy now. I still think they have better talent than us or the Rams they just can't keep the best players healthy.

They have to face it after this year too many of the guys they rely on are good but injury prone. Mitchell has been terrific but keeps getting dinged, Mostert can't stay healthy ,Wilson can't stay healthy and their higher pick Sermon has been slow to pick up the scheme. So they still have a very good run game but have had to actually play Deebo at RB, he actually leads the team in rushing TD's!

It’s in Shanahan’s contract that he has full control of the roster meaning he’s got more authority over personnel decisions. People thought it was odd when the details of it were announced but apparently the 49ers thought it was the best way to usher in a rookie HC/GM together.

I think all head coaches have some level of input. For instance Kliff wanted Isabella and Moore and he got them but Keim is filling out the roster and ultimately deciding on the 53.
