I didn't want him at #4. We were clearly more than one player away. Trade down and get multiple players for that pick. "Get a haul" as they say.

Normally I might have agreed but we did that the prior year and we needed a WR because they ignored my advice to sign Jerry Jeudy.

It is weird because people keep talking about coaching and yet every game I watch just about has at least one Wr from TOSU that had the same coaches Marv does. Even tonights pathetic game there's a great snag and run by JSN and Herbie the TOSU lover immediately says what a great snag, the route was perfect came back to the ball, snatches it out of the air with strong hands and then turns upfield. And I'm thinking if Marv's issue is coaching and he played with the same coaches JSN did, then that means the TOSU coaches suck and the Seahawks coaches are great? So then how come all these TOSU WR's are first round picks?

Marv will be ok I'm confident of that but his issue IMO is HIS issue, he's just not very competitive.

That's basically why I started this thread. I wanted him at #4 and I have not given up on him. You mention competitive, that was me saying he has no DAWG in him, or at least he hasn't shown it yet. It is way too early to write him off, but I would like to him more aggressive.

Yeah sorry I should have said as the thread title says, he's not very competitive. YOu nailed his issue IMO

I was shouted down for pointing out the bust rate of the first WR taken in a draft. There was so much noise how Harrison might not even be the 4th best WR in this draft it was crazy. People really need to listen to what NFL execs are saying and looking at historical 1st round performance rather than buying into labels like "Generational".

The second 1st rounder always should have been a WR so you either stay and take Harrison / Alt, or trade back and take Odunze / Bowers / Turner.

Edit: I was with BIM, Shane, and a few others thinking trading down was the right move.

Now we have no future draft capital and still need what are the exact things I thought we needed going into the draft:

Guess it’s what you consider “turning on him.” Personally I’m surprised he’s not been a lot better. But I also recognize he’s got the ability to learn and get better. But he’s still been a disappointment this season. Do you consider me to have “turned@ on him? I don’t feel I have.

I wanted Harrison w/4th pick. But would have been ok with Alt, whom I really liked. For whatever reason, Kyler and Harrison haven’t been on the same page all season. I don’t get to see many Arizona games on TV, but some of the early season games I did see were revealing. Early in one game, Kyler never threw in Harrison’s direction even though he was often open. And in another game, Kyler threw the ball so high that it was uncatchable. Another time in the same game the ball was so close to the sidelines that it was not catchable. Box score in that game showed 6 targets and 2 catches. At least 2 and maybe 3 balls were not catchable. The rest of the game, Harrison did not get another target. Don’t know the problem, and I didn’t see the Carolina game. But here’s what I’ve surmised from watching Kyler play for the past 6 years: He’s never accountable for his own play and the play of his teammates. He’s often seen slumped shouldered, with head down on the sidelines after a poor series. No leadership ability. None. If something goes wrong, it’s “That’s what the coaches called for.” I have faith that Harrison will develop, but no faith that Kyler will.

We already had 12 draft picks including 2 firsts. How many more did you want?

I'm guessing a 2025 first rounder along with a lower 2024 pick.

The real question is who would give that up to get MHJ when there were 3-4 other quality prospects on the board. The "haul" scenario depended on someone wanting the fourth quarterback off the board or taking a non-QB in the top three picks. Neither event materialized.

There were two extremely good OT prospects and three high quality WR prospects. There was no market to trade up 2-3 slots.

I was okay with him then and okay now. I thought Odunze was about as good, Nabers was close. I do think Harrison underestimated the challenge. I have no idea how close he is to his dad. I still believe Harrison will be an impact receiver in the NFL.
