who else? How many of our guys did we resign already? Who's job is that? When it happens year in year out with this clown, he is to blame.

Agreed. When Michael Bidwill says they are going to sign Warner and "get the deal done", and it doesn't get done after two days of negotiation that is pretty bad.

The Cardinals were 2 1/2 minutes away from a Superbowl, and can't seem to hold the core together as they say.

Not to say Warner/agent doesn't have blame in this as well. It is obvious the place for Warner is AZ. He does not seem to re-situate himself in a new place. His first year and half here was less than stellar to say the least. If there is a deal with 10 mil guaranteed plus incentives and he walked away that is just stupid on his part. But Warner has been known to have his own vice when it comes to money.

It is times like this that makes me wonder why that 2 1/2 minutes cost us the SB, and how someone returns a INT 100 yard in a Superbowl.

If Warner leaves, trade Quan and start building a running game. Don't let two players start running the organization.

Funny that the team website has nothing up about this yet.

Que the Warnerphiles in 3....2....1....
I'm not fond of the idea of going with Matt Leinart, but even if Warner doesn't sign we still need to go and get another QB through FA or draft. If Matt Leinart is a bust, maybe we Matt Ryan/Joe Flacco it by drafting a Pat White in the 3rd round? Maybe we throw a similar (but slightly less) contract to Donovan McNabb if he wants out of Philly? Bottom line is if Kurt Warner doesn't agree to sign with us and goes elsewhere, we still have options and need to look for a 3rd QB. I'm certain Warner will decide to stay at our final offer (which is very fair if it's a 2 year contract) and we should look at Dansby, Q, and free agency.

This is annoying. Warner's making Boldin look rational. Let Kurt play out his free agent fantasy and get to work on Dansby, Berry and some new pieces.

Post of the day Rugby!!! If Graves can't get it done, shut your pie hole!!! Over a year now that he has stated he wanted to get Danbsy done. Hello Rod, knock knock. The longer he waits the more it costs the team. Guys who can't see there is a problem are just not seeing the light. Maybe things haven't changed so much.

There is NO way warner leaves and get paid 14 million by another team... for a VARIETY of reasons..

There is not a better situation for Warner, and there isn't a team out there that will give Warner 14-16 Million as a F.A.

Just my opinion... but I think Warner will ABSOLUTLY be a Cardinal next year...

At least Warner did the right thing and waited until now to do it. He didn't leave the party early and later say he thinks his actions "shouldn't be a distraction." The way Kurt Warner is doing it is the right way to do it by waiting until now to do it. :mulli:

Predicition!!!
Warner retires.
Reason, just like he stated he wants this team to stay intact. The Cards aren't giving in to Quans demands and Kurt isn't signing anything here until he sees otherwise.

In what respect ?

That a deal between a team's best player, and the only organization in which said player will thrive in his 2 years he has left in his body cannot put something together when working at it for two weeks.

Sorry that is down right pathetic for both sides. There is no middle road to be found ?

It is a situation that is a poor showing by the player and the organization.

I have said for years that I am not that big of a Rod Graves/Cardinals FO fan. These are the situations that ruffle my feathers the wrong way.

It would seem you would have to work harder NOT to get the deal done.

Just unbelievable that it did not get done.

Its not out of the question that another team will money whip him. I'm looking at the cap figures for other teams who need a QB and I can see a team feasibly offering him 13-14 mil per year.

One of those teams is Kansas City, where his old OC is running the fort.....I can see it happening.

Maybe, but would he really take (at most $4-6M) to play with a team that has no chance over one that does???

Really KC... REALLY?

And what would be the point of spending nearly half of your cap room on a QB thats nealry 40??

So you could win maybe 2-3 more games next year?

Don't forget you have Piloi running the show there now, NO WAY he's that ********....

And not to mention why the hell would Kurt do that? not going to happend

This is the NFL, where a team can go from the dumps to a shining star in one season. See 2008 Falcons. It wouldn't take much for Scott Pioli and Todd Haley to sell him on the idea of playing in KC.

Right now, its not about what makes sense to the fans, its what makes sense to Kurt Warner and his agent.

If everyone wants to get all warm and fuzzy and relive 2008 for the next two years in memory only, than re-sign Curt for one billion dollars. If you want sustained success, use the money elsewhere at a position of need I really wish the Cards would have won that damn game so he would have retired on top but it wasn't meant to be. We have the QBOF on the bench. It makes no sense to money whip him. He won't go to Chicago or anywhere else. If they do re-sign him and trade Matt they better get a great pick that they can turn right around and use on the QBOF because they will need the QBOF next year.

Yes KC...REALLY

See my above post.

And in that same logic, arent we that "********" for wanted Kurt back? He's going to take up about 1/3 of our cap where we can fill other needs on the roster.

umm... we were in the Superbowl and 2 1/2 minutes away from winning it....

There is a HUGE difference between that and being 2-14...

Yes. He would be playing in a system similar to the one he has in AZ. They have a good wide out in Dwane Bowe and with how rich the FA market and the draft is for wide outs, they can get another one for multiple options. Factor in Tony Gonzalez and you have a legit triple threat.

Let's look at KC then. KC was a 2-14 team for a start. Their primary offenseive weapons were LJ (not bad last year, but only played 12 games), Tony Gonzales (excellent TE, no doubt), Dwayne Bowe (their best WR and is great, but not excellent), no other quality WR's so they need to address this as well. Their overall offense was average at best, but not good for points scored. They need a compltete retooling to their defense (was among the very worst last year). I highly doubt they have a chance to be a serious SB threat in one offseason. Playoffs at best, even if they do sign Kurt Warner. They have Tyler Thigpen and would do better to address the above areas of need first. Thigpen should do ok for now.
