Good title, good trailer, and good GOD Jennifer Lawrence is a ridiculous smokeshow, not to mention incredibly talented.

Great as action lead in Hunger Games, Drama and Comedy. Between Don’t Look Up (which grew on me), Causeway and this, it’s nice to see her back on screen again after a bit of a hiatus.

Wife and I saw this tonight at the theater. Both really enjoyed it more than we anticipated.

Watched this over the weekend, although almost didn't

Has a brief window to get a movie in and my wife was looking at times on her phone. Harkins didn't work. I told her to check AMC and it did. She told me time and i opened up the app to buy it because I have the stubbs account.

I open the app, see the time and buy tickets

Get to the theater, buy concessions, guy scans the ticket and tells us we're in 12. Go to 12, start to climb up to row J and the theater stops at E.

Look at the ticket and see that it is for theater 12. Step out of the theater and then notice I bought tickets at the AMC that is slightly closer, but not the one I typically go to

Same time, same theater number - different location

Theater was really full. Was trying to track seats on the app and ended up taking a pair of open seats in the front row.

Thankfully, no one claimed them and no issues watching the movie

Overall, it was fine.

We just didn't really find it funny. I think the expectation was a bit different.

They tried to build in a fair amount of cute, commentary and some heart.

Has amusing moments, but really not a lot of laughter in the theater.

Just kind of a weird vibe.

Didn't dislike it, glad I watched it, but a little bit forgettable IMO

Went to see this over the weekend. Not exactly the movie we went to see. Yes, it's rated R and yes it has its moments. However, the marketing made this seem like a really raunchy comedy was misleading. Aside from a couple scenes and language this didn't seem like the movie advertised. Take those couple scenes and language out and it's a borderline R comedy IMO. If I had known that gong in? This movie would have been on target.

The fact that the marketing didn't match the movie made me feel a tad misled. This movie seemed like it was trying to skirt a grey line on what kind of movie it wanted to be. Not that this was bad or anything and we liked it, but it just wasn't the movie we went to see.

I think that is in line with our feelings as well.

This isn't "Good Boys" or really much of a Rated R comedy

I think that mismatch is why the feeling was a bit off - marketing led to expect one thing and the movie delivered something different

I am probably a different audience than you. I love raunchy comedies so I am probably more of the target audience.

I'm ok with some of it worked a into a good story, but not raunch for the sake of raunch if that makes sense.

The nice thing about this movie is it isn't raunch just for raunch.

good question, but one that doesn’t have an easy, one size fits all answer.

Take Fleabag for example. That show starts off with I believe to be the lead having anal sex and it is brilliant, smart and funny. Sets the tone perfectly.

Then there’s Old School, which for me, was just a lame attempt at being raunchy/edgy early.

So it really all depends on the scene.

We loved Fleabag, that was amazing. I don't even remember the opening sex scene, will have to go back and watch that again. That's the nice thing about getting older, you don't remember all the shows you've watched and can enjoy them again, lol.

I guess I am thinking of the ones we have tried out on Hulu and Prime and then boom, right away there's a sex scene and we can tell the movie was going to suck. Wish I remembered the names.

Some movies are hard to fit into a "Rom Com" or a "Raunch Com" genre. "50 First Dates" is one of a handful of Sandler movies I liked, but it demonstrates what we are talking about here. Remember that older Hawaiin guy? Everything that came out of his mouth was raunchy. I thought it was the worst part of the movie. But maybe his raunchiness was the point, I don't know. I just don't see why they need to add that in, but like you suggest a lot of people want that.
