The Vortex!
The last couple of days I've had an issue when starting my computer in the morning.
I would turn the computer on and nothing would happen, lights on the computer would come on but the beep wasn't there nor was the flash on the keyboard. Nothing to the monitors. I would recycle the power a couple of times including pulling power and it would start.
Tonight after cooking dinner I come back and think the computer is asleep but I can't wake it up. I try to recycle powerr a few times but nothing. I can't get it to come back. The usual trying to get in safe mode does nothing.
I am running Vista.
BTW, I am posting on my laptop.

Any suggestions?

Evidently I have a bad memory stick.
After moving around and reseating the memory, I am back up and running.

Does not sound like a memory issue. Sounds like a power supply unit issue or a mobo issue. Usually when its memory you can at least get it to power on and it fails during boot up. If I am reading what your posting correctly you don't even get that far. I guess it could also mean that a CPU has become unseated as well but that is less likely.

I don't know, I moved some sticks around and reseated the memory and I haven't had an issue since.

Knock on wood.
