Am i the only one so pissed Cards passed on Skatt? This a colossal mistake. Classic example of an incredible football player falling because of a 40 yard dash. More importantly, think about all the fans of other teams that live in AZ, but went to ASU, dont we want to convert those? Have more Cards fans at home games? Skatt jersey sales? Doesnt this squad soarley need a likable hometown kid?

C’mon. They should have taken him in the 3rd, and maybe the 2nd. If he busted, nobody would care, it was a free pick…

Ruined the entire draft for me

Not pissed at all, I think the three players they drafted before Skattebo was taken will all make the Cardinals better than he would have. And he isn't a "hometown kid", he was born and raised in California. Pinning your entire hopes on drafting one single player when there are 31 other teams who also want the same guys is almost guaranteed to end in disappointment.

He'll never be Saquan and the NYG took him in the 4th. I think He'll be a good pro. Splitting carries with the youngsters rb from last year will likely be the setup in Jersey.

I’m bummed, but it didn’t ruin the draft for me. I think he would bring a lot of juice to the organization and also make defenses HATE playing us. JC is awesome but that style of running can wear down your body very quickly. if we could rotate between the two of them, defenses would start making business decisions instead of trying to tackle.

Just don't think his play style translates well to the NFL.

Running through the front seven of Iowa State is one thing.

Running through the front seven of the PHI Eagles is all together a different proposition.

But if he helps upset the balance of power in the NFC, more power to him. I bear him no ill will except when he plays against us.

Saquan was the second overall pick.
I wanted Skat, but the Giants wanted him more. I think he will split carries but will go over 1000 yds..I expect a JC kind of year by year 2 or 3 and a solid year this year. He's a dual threat despite having just decent speed. Wilson at qb will make him so much better as a dual threat rb. I think the Giants, Jersey culture will be a great fit. He'll be a fan favorite quickly.

Yep, and our fan base still sucks… so clearly taking an ASU player doesn’t really affect it long-term in anyway.

Agree.. it will just create a buzz for a little while.. especially if ASU does good and locals see them more then they would get excited.

Imagine if we drafted Heap and Suggs. They had the career they had but here..

I hear you. I have a similar feeling with him as Tillman and Plummer. Just a winner that is competitive it hurts. Wish him well in New York. He will be tough to tackle in the winter.

I think if this year had been like last year and the Cards had three picks in the third round, he would have definitely been worth it. I hope he succeeds. But I’ve become very skeptical of the Gmen ever since they let Saquon walk. I enjoyed watching him have such a great year in Philly and win a Super Bowl while the Giants floundered.

Skatt would have been fun. Yes most would I’d loved it. We should focus on winning first just my opinion.

he did run on Texas as well and they were good at stopping the run last year. I wouldn't say Texas was great at it other than obvious short yardage situations, but that was a great audition for him. I think he can be effective in the right situations. and he can catch the ball well. his only downfall is speed and he will need to take care of his body to last more than just a couple of years in the league. we probably both agree that he got drafted where he should have?
