North America to Host 2026 World Cup

A combined US, Canadian, and Mexican bid to host the 2026 World Cup has been approved. 10 games will be played in Canada, 10 in Mexico, and the bulk in the US. This is going to be a 48-team World Cup, so the automatic qualification will mean a lot less for the US and Mexico--but quite a lot to Canada, I would imagine.

Morocco really are on an island here. Unless they get Fifa to accept a joint bid with Spain they probably will not host anytime soon.

Need to start planning a Disneyland/Rose Bowl trip now... my kids will be 12 and 10 by then.. can't really even imagine!

Either that or a multi-city road trip if the kids are really into soccer.

Morocco, while a much more scenic and historic country, doesn't have the oil cash that Qatar has. How would Morocco have the cash to build all the stadiums required for a 48 team tourney?

Qatar bribed their way to the WC, but at least has the cash to build a dozen stadiums and not bankrupt the country. Morocco doesn't have that type of wealth.
