“I don’t feel I won my share of battles out there,” Gandy said.

Felt bad for him being left out there like that. We knew before the game he couldn't do this alone. Not many can.

Gandy was a nice surprise last year.

But he's almost 31. He's getting a little long in the tooth for a guy with medium talent.

Really starting to question paying an aging QB 14 million, and not upgrading the LT position to protect him.

Warner played so well last year though. Guess we would have been fools not to pay him.

Well said. At least understand Gandy's limitations and offer him the proper help. To me that is more troubling, that the coaches don't seem to understand this.

Which makes me wonder why other team's tackles seem to have no problem with our DE's who are, listed at least, the same size as the Colts DEs. What do the Colts do differently?

It looks like our guys have no moves at all but just try to run around the OT or just lock up with them and do a little ballroom dancing.

You mean our OLB's. Our DE's are more like their defensive tackles, and they played well until our offense hung them out to dry.

Seriously, lets try to be a little logical.

Mike Gandy is not going to hold off Dwight Freeney for all 52 pass attempts in a game like last night. Anyone who thinks so is fooling themselves.

The Arizona defense is not going to hold off Petyon Manning if they are on the field a majority of the game. Anyone who thinks so is fooling themselves.

No I mean our defensive ends. Last night Haggens was left DE and Berry was right DE for a good part of the game that I've watched on replay. They did not line up outside and off the los but on the los over the Tackles outside shoulder. Watch the first Colts TD pass, both Haggans and Berry are on the los in a 3 point stance. Same thing for a good portion of the Colts 2nd TD drive.

There were usually 4 guys on the los. Not in what you would call a 3-4.

As for Gandy how about holding off Freeney for just 2 pass attempts? That's all it took for Freeney to sack Warner and cause a fumble. :D

You are right though nobody really can expect to beat the Colts throwing the ball 52 times.

Kind of hard when your coaches arm you with a butter knife against a growling horde of sharp-toothed, sharp-clawed demons from the bowels of hell. And no Mike, there aren't any reinforcements coming.

A case of "too cute".

And Rugby's on two, Freeney's already proved no Tackle can hold him off all game, and Mathis is a steller player too. The line needed help, but they needed to get a lot more.
