For those of us that are waiting for the draft to see the FO finally take an O-Lineman high....good luck! I can almost hear the propaganda now about how Levi is returning and "we are very excited about the development of our young players!"

I sure hope I am wrong on that but IMO we are literally an average o-line away from being a top ten team in this league.

Of course you'll hear that Levi is returning. Its true. He has a fresh 30 million dollar contract as well. He is next years starting LT. Just a fact. Considering what Ive seen this year Ill be tremendously happy to have him back too.

Until Kolb has his head beat in & then Skelton does too. :bang:
An upgrade? Yes. A better than average LT? Hell no!

yes, the team is expecting him back. And he will be a welcome return. However, I do expect to take a couple somewhat high in the draft. At the very least, we could use solid depth

Even so Shane, do you really think the overall line play will improve dramatically? While Brown is markedly better than Batiste for sure, having him back really won't solve much, imo. The whole thing is just such a mess, my stomach hurts just thinking about it.

I never said he was better than average. But he can at least be average. Which is 100 times better than what we have right now. He at least gave us some semblance of a running game to his side when in as well.

even more important than drafting OL, we desperately need a legit OL coach. Until we have a guy than can actually develop these kids, there's no point in drafting young talent

I really believe Grimm will be serviceable with some talented players...Grimm isn't going anywhere until Wiz is fired! Just the reality of it Brandon.

if that's the reality of the situation, I hope Whiz is fired soon. I REALLY like Whiz and think he's the best HC this team has ever seen, but Grimm and Miller are so God awful. They're like a terrible infection in your leg that you need to cut your leg off to get rid of. I'll miss the leg (Whiz) and it'll be a pain in the ass to get used to life without it, BUT the infection HAS to go

They weren't bad in 2010 when they had more talent to work with ;)

I'll say that barring injury, next years O-line will be this: LT L. Brown, LG Colledge, C Sendlein, RG New guy, RT Massie.

Grimm will never be serviceable no matter what players they bring in. Even with little talent you would expect to see some improvement as the line gained more experience together but instead they get worse every week. That's on the coach.

As for Stand Around Levi Brown, Kolb was being sacked more than once every 10 times he dropped back to pass in 2011. We were watching the same jailbreaks last season. :(

My take on the OL is vote no on incumbent.

We should be drafting ONLY offensive line, pass rushers and maybe CBs for the next 2 years.

THIS... unless a QB falls in our lap (barring Kolb leaving the NFL after our OLine does an "Oh-lay", letting Jared Allen remove Kolb's head.)

No way the 2008 & 2009 teams offense is all because of 1 guy, Kurt Warner...I'm not buying it Duck!

As far as Levi being cut, resigned & the LT again. :bang: he's better than Batiste but you still don't bring back one of the worst LTs in the game & play him in the same spot...stupid Cardinals:mulli:

I think Massie is being given too mush grace. Yea, he is a rookie trying to figure it out; however, Brown started as a rookie, and I don't recall him ever playing as bad as our two tackles are right now.

Next year:

LT=Brown
LG=College
C=Sendlein
RG=???
LG=???

Reserves = Massie, Snyder, Kelemente, + a practice squad guy.

Adding 2 starters to what may be the worst OL in history seems like a reasonable goal.

If the Cardinals do not bring in someone in the offseason for the OT position they are dumbest sports organization on the planet.

There is no way to justify it. Levi Brown ? Levi Brown is part of the problem, not the solution. Better then what we have now, but instead of 5 sacks a game we would have 4. The best thing Levi Brown can bring us is some run blocking, but if our team is constantly down, and we are know to pass a lot then really what is he bringing ?

LT for one year ? OK

LT for two years? Unacceptable, unless he improves and can beat out whomever we bring in next offseason.

I think the way to look at it for me is if Levi is like the 4th or 5th best guy on your OL you probably have a good OL. If he's the best guy on it, you're in trouble.

Right now he'd probably be our best lineman.

That is very exotic. A lot of guards!

If our guards weren't so horrible I would actually think this is a good idea.

Your LT should be almost by definition your best lineman it's the nature of the position.

If he was playing RT then your statement makes more sense to me.

He's not bad in fact as a RT he would be very good IMO, and our center is acceptable, that's it.

LT is a very tough position to fill that's why we have Levi in it, he works in it but works is a stretch of a word. Spending a high pick on that one would be a good idea until it's fixed and set for 10 years.

Guards are much easier to find and you can get near pro bowl caliber guards in the 3rd round if you're good at spotting them.

We are not good at spotting them.

A starter and at least one alternate last year were un-drafted free agents out of college at guard in the pro bowl.

Sure but I mean if Levi Brown is the best lineman on your team, you don't have very good lineman. If he's 4th or 5th you probably have a good OL.

Or if Adam Snyder is the worst OL on a great Ol and then comes to your OL and still sucks, it proves he really sucks.

Couldn't run the ball at all in 2008. 31st in yards per attempt. 2009 was better but that was the only time in years that the Cards had the same 5 guys play most of the season on the offensive line that played most of the season the year before. And the offense still dropped from 3rd to 11th and Warner was so concerned about the offensive line that he retired with a year left on his contract at the end of the season.
