No thanks super small sample size and he wants to get paid like he’s a star
NOt sure that is true anymore. He had a great playoff run in 2018, but his 2019 season has been lackluster. I think his expectations have mellowed a bit.

How much has Bridges played in the backcourt?

And who would be the Shooting Guard? Certainly not Bridges. Thus far he is a defensive specialist at the wing.
Bridges is just fine as a SG. He has the speed, defense, and shooting ability to play the position.

I'm curious if you think Bridges has the shooting ability of a Shooting Guard this early in his career . . . or the potential to do so.

Oh yes. Absolutely. He was a very efficient shooter from the three at Villanova. Bridges would not play as a lead SG, as in the top scorer, but as a very efficient SG alongside a ball-dominant scoring pg.

But he is a classic wing in today's NBA--which seems to be a 2-3 outside, fill the lanes on the break type of player.

Bridges was a flat out sniper in school I was surprised he didn’t shoot better as a rookie.

But not the ballhandling skill that you want out of a guard. Doesn’t need to be elite, but has to have some ballhandling skill.

Longer distance, better faster longer defenders. I believe he’ll adjust and raise his percentage.

I honestly see Lonzo Ball in our future. Good or bad I think it’s going to be him. We got young players and some assets to be a third team in a big trade
James Jones is tight with LeBron. LeBron doesn't seem to believe in Lonzo since he's running the Lakers and is talking about him being traded. Therefore, I'd bet Jones has very little interest in Ball. Although Ball's value is trash. Not sure they'd get much in return for him anyway. He could be had for cheap.

That said, I still want nothing to do with Ball. I honestly wouldn't give a 2nd rounder for him. He's an overrated, terrible player. Especially in this era.

To JC's point though, we shouldn't be messing around with this. If there's even a hint of being able to land Jrue you make it happen. Like Jerry did with Barkley. Make them an offer they can't refuse. With Jrue and Book you have one of the most dangerous back courts in all of basketball.

Book would be perfectly sandwiched between Jrue and Bridges. We could protect him defensively like GS protects Steph.

All we'd need to add is a banger PF like Young and we'd have an ACTUAL quality starting lineup with 3 potential All Pros.

Jrue
Book
Bridges/Oubre
Young
Ayton

You'd have D, shooting, scoring, toughness, and a tad more experience.

Especially if you're pairing him with Booker. We need someone who can handle pressure bringing the ball up or the double out high and that's not Booker and it's never going to be Bridges IMO. Bridges could play shooting guard opposite a young Chris Paul type but he isn't our SG answer.

It is sad that we are so hard up for an experienced Point Guard that anyone
would settle for, or suggest, Devin Booker as a permanent solution at the
Point . . . and suggest who should be our new Shooting Guard.

DBook is a (potential) super star as an offensive Shooting Guard.

Why dilute that by planning for him to play another season out of position?

It hurts the team. It hurts him. It hurts the fans. And management should
realize that it hurts them, too.

Think the Suns have to decide if they want a traditional PG or a combo guard so Booker keeps handling the ball? Really think they need a veteran PG either way, one that gets the ball out of Booker's hands. Conley is expensive but would be a great fit as he can shoot outside, isn't ego-driven and has a calming presence which the Suns desperately need with all the young guys...

John Gambadoro says the Suns will not pursue Conley.

Evan Sidery‏ @esidery

.@Gambo987 is reporting that the Suns are not interested in trading for Mike Conley.

He says the Suns are looking for a combo guard so Booker will not be doubled.

Seriously? So management is going to be dumb enough to stick with the proven disaster that is Point Book?

I can't even imagine the ridicule an NFL team would get if it went without a legitimate NFL QB, if an MLB team went without a legitimate MLB pitcher, or if an NHL team wentvwithout a legitimate NHL goalie for 3 years running.

No wonder the Suns have been the worst team in the NBA over the past decade...

Gambo seems to like Lowry if he becomes available. It doesn't make me feel better.

It would make me feel a heck of a lot better than the increasingly likely prospect of a Devin Booker/ Tyler Johnson starting backcourt, or even worse Devin Booker / Jarrett Culver.

It would probably take Warren and Johnson to trade for Lowry.

That seems like a lot for a rental.

It would make the Suns a bigger player in free agency next summer though.

My feeling is that, whatever it takes financially, the Suns need to fill each position
with qualified players to make the rest of the team better, particularly at PG and PF.

I think we are in agreement the Suns need a point guard and a power forward but there are financial constraints in how to do it.
