Dawson did QB in '62 the last year in Dallas, but I am looking for their other QB who Dawson took over for and who started for them their first two years in Dallas '60 & '61. He is the one who still holds the record I was referring to, also.

That's it. Played college ball at Baylor and backup to Unitas in Baltimore after being drafted 5th overall I believe. Still holds NFL record, among all NFL QBs ever, he has the worst completion %. Now that is a tough one to live with all your life. He was the starting QB during the Dallas Texans first 2 seasons. After their 3rd season in Dallas they moved to K.C. and Cotton went to play for Oakland, with KC getting that year's first overall draft pick from the Raiders. K.C. used it to draft Willie Buchanan, a future HoFer.

I don't get this. They didn't exploit the rules. On both plays Slay then Maddox completely screwed up. They were very clearly player errors rather than schematic failings.

How does the DC make players not look away from the guy they are covering?

I bet you’re old enough to remember Eddie LaBaron (sp). Now that was a small QB.

Yes, he might have been the smallest. I would guess 5'7" maybe?
