Who do the Jets want? Do they trade down to a team that wants Dalton? Man I hope another QB goes in this rd, no good reason just for fun.

Peterson, rated by some as the best player in the draft (general manager Rod Graves later said the Cards had Peterson fifth on their board), will impact the Cards immediately on both defense and special teams. He will work into the mix with Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and Greg Toler and figures to eventually take Toler’s spot and team with DRC as starters.

First: Did Rod just admit that PP7 was the best we could do at #5??? He basically admitted that the 4 picked ahead of him were above him on their board. lol

Second: He had Cam Newton rated ahead of him.

Is Bowers injury really that bad? Sure he maybe out a year or so but could he play OL in our D?

Very interesting first round and more importantly a good pick for the Cards. I also think think they are in a good position with some excellent players still there like Justin Houston, Brooks Reed, Stefen Wisniewski, John Moffitt etc etc.

Man the Saints get Cameron Jordan and Mark Ingram that late in the first round, pretty good.

Yep

And meanwhile the Pats add a OT, have the #33 pick & the Saints #1 next year. I do think that NE blew a good fit & a stud at DE in Jordan

Is it just me or do the draft analysts tend to say that white defensive players have high motors way more often than they say it for brothers?

Not only did the Cards get a stud at #5 but they also increased their chances of landing Kolb as a result of other team's moves. Carolina, Tennessee, and Minnesota all drafted QB's early and essentially are out of the running for Kolb. I don't see how any of those teams could invest a high first rounder on a QB like they did and then justify trading for Kolb. In addition, Cincinnati drafting Green could indicate that they are attempting to entice Palmer to return.

Outside of us, San Francisco, Seattle, Miami, Washington and Cincinnati to an extent appear to be the only teams left in the running for Kolb, and there is no way Philly trades Kolb to Washington. With Mallet and Dalton still on the board and expected to go in the 2nd round, it's possible that two more of the above teams are crossed off the list. Lack of competition for Kolb should bring the asking price down.

Could you imagine stocking our defensive cupboards during this years draft, then acquiring Kolb to lead the offense?

Yes, and then I wake up and breathe a sigh of relief. All it takes for a bidding war is two.

I also think Washington doesn't want to trade with Philly in regards to a QB because they already got burnt once. ;)
