5. Alex Len. Well, bye bye Marcin Gortat. Is Len the next Michael Olowokandi? How do you have a top 5 center and not make the NCAA tourney

In all fairness, Maryland guards were terrible and didn't really throw the ball to Len. Initially, I hate the pick, but I'll give Len a chance. There might be some trades/ additional picks as well.

Man, I can't believe Len fell to us. Woo Hoo. (Cognitive dissonance is working overtime)

Another thing... Sac wanted Ben bad, everyone knew it. Why not trade down with them and pick Len there AND get an asset if you knew you were taking Len the whole time.

Len was projected to go higher. Many maybe most considered him a better center prospect than Noel. McDonough has been scouting him long before Maryland.

Gortat can now be traded for a wing.

I hope you don't think it's a race thing.

It's absolutely a race thing. The Suns have drafted or traded for more white scrubs than any other team in the league. Being in the middle of one of the reddest states in the country dictates certain priorities.

Days before the draft it was reported that both Noel and McLemore could drop while Len's stock was rising. Even today many still thought Len might go #1. The Suns seemed to have gone along with the predictions.

I did like Len if McLemore and Oladipo were both off the board, but I don't feel good about passing on McLemore.

coz New Orleans would probably have taken Len over Noel too..

The better question is why the hell we took Len over McLemore..

We better acquire McCollum or Shabazz now. We need a young shooting guard in the worst way.

I'd be happy with trading for #10 and picking Shabazz there.

for what kind of wing? and gortat could have been traded for a wing if we drafted ANYONE because we're rebuilding and not trying to contend next year.

Noel going to be traded, sources say

I'd take him

C - Len
PF - Noel

that would actually be a good young frontcourt to build around unlike the midget PFs that can't protect the rim we are playing right now.. Gortat for Noel and Lopez, thanks.

I would be fine with Bazz at this point if all it takes is Gortat.

Philly just sent Jrue Holiday and a 2014 1st to New Orleans for Noel.

Edit: Actually Philly is getting the pick.

the McLemore thing is really my bigger issue. Noel has pretty big concerns too, but if we were scared of a C, why take ANOTHER scary C instead of going with a kid who for large chunks of the season looked like a superstar in the making as a freshman.

stupid...just freaking stupid.

call me a racist, but a big, white center, who's a project with motor problems and couldn't even dominate...or even play very well in college?

that's a GREAT pick!

Did Hornacek bring over the Jazz drafting strategy?

Not real big on McLemore, but I'm still scratching my head at the Len pick.

So the Suns could have had Holiday and a 2014 pick for the 5 pick....sigh....
