For the record, everyone needs to stop doubting the Gambo / Sarver love relationship since Gambo called the pick like 2 minutes into the clock.

Wow, Len averaged 7.8 rebounds per game. Must have been because "the guards didn't give him the ball enough."

7.8 rebounds in 26 minutes is not really that bad. Noel averaged 9.5 in 31.5 minutes. I am pretty sure that's the exact same rate. Without doing the math, I'd say that's 11.9-ish for Noel and 11.7-ish for Len.

My guess is Suns really wanted Zeller and would have grabbed him if Charlotte had taken Len or someone else instead. So maybe you can evaluate it from that perspective - ie, would Zeller had been a more infuriating choice (I think so)? They obviously weren't blowing smoke about not liking McLemore.

In any case, it doesn't impact "throwing" next season for a shot at Wiggins. At least there's that upside.

I'd love to see the Suns draft board. I wonder if Len was tops.

Well not to keen on the len pick.... but lets see who we get for Gortat. I missed the draft but I can't believe we passed on Noel having so many mixed emotions right now.... ugh Noel would have been so fun to watch

The Dallas Mavericks and Atlanta Hawks are discussing a deal for the Mavs' 13th pick, league sources tell Y! Sports. Still talking.

Which raises a question about the minutes he is able to play.

It wouldn't surprise me. I don't think Len is such a bad pick, except it IS a bad pick considering who was still there.

It seems Zeller is the stronger, quicker, more athletic version of Len without the stress fractures.

I am wary of stress fractures and big men. I hope it doesn't plague him like they have for so many big men.

But to pass up Noel, or the trade for Noel, or McLemore seems pretty bad.

Hopefully Len lights it up and becomes a good player. For a center he is quite athletic, but so is Gortat.

So I don't see how we're any better, just got a replacement for Gortat who we are now free to move. But for all this to work, if we trade Gortat, we have to hit on that pick, otherwise it becomes a Len for Gortat trade which I'm hard pressed to see as anything but sideways besides cap advantages during a rebuilding process.

Word from McDonough is that Len was #1 on their board. If they had the #1 pick, they would have taken him.

So, they had a board, and regardless of who dropped where, they stuck to it.

Oh, come on man, quit your whining. Your argument was invalid, stop picking another argument. I don't really like the pick either, but let's be fair to the guy. Lots of college freshmen don't play a lot of minutes.

Len was projected to go #1 on Draft Net and #4 at Draft Express.
Yea cause people thought Cleveland was stupid enough to take Len.

I don't think Len was #1 on most draft boards though. He was after Noel and McLemore.

why is his argument invalid? being able to stay on the floor and actually GET those rebounds proves you can do it, not statistics that say if you could stay on the floor longer.

and lots of 7 footers on bad teams better be able to get lots of minutes if you're going to draft them with the 5th freaking pick.

The Suns are going to be whiter than Utah. It's going to be a very long decade.

Undoubtedly. Every GM EVER says the same thing about their number one pick, especially if it's A) a high one with plenty of room for doubt, and B) potentially unpopular.

Who cares about the color? Geez, this is 2013! Can we get past that stupid white vs. black argument? I don't like the pick, but not because he's WHITE.

Considering they passed on McLemore for him I really don't think it's spin.

I'm surprised and disappointed that the Suns passed on McLemore. My dream scenario would have been McLemore and a trade up to draft Adams(who I feel will be the best big in this class). It's really disheartening that it appears to have been a very real possibility but the Suns went in another direction.
