Pouring in South Scottsdale. Lots of wind and some thunder. So loud that it will be hard to sleep, I think.

got home from a trip and found a big tree snapped in my yard and fairly heavy stuff blown all over the place, and another inch or so in the rain gauge; it sprinkled again this evening. Must have been some storm!

Up here in North Scottsdale, we've been getting hit pretty good by T-Storms that seem to be flying thru the area on a steady basis! Course - my daughter is out at a formal dance at her high school tonight... ugghhhh....

Ya they are just firing and moving through nonstop, the boundary layer (where the storms will fire) is set up right around the 202 and slowly moving south, once that gets south of the valley and the front moves through the solid rain should start for all day tomorrow.

Yup, seemed like that last night, had a hard time setting up for any lightning, everything was so fast moving.

And the rain begins

Just got back from Church. Pima Rd, Scottsdale Rd and Happy Valley Roads are a mess. Wow. Serious levels of precip! Washes are flowing pretty good and I would suspect that will only pick up as the day does on as this looks like it's sticking around for a while!
Amazingly wet cycle we've been in over the past month or so. This spring the desert promises to be on fire with major cacti blooms! Mike, we expect another round of awarding winning photos!!

9:02 last night there was a huge burst of thunder, lightning and about 20 seconds of hail. Then nothing for a couple of hours. Then the rains came and it's been off and on ever since.

I, too, can't wait to see the photos, Mike!

Seriously!

With rain comes problems, I am noticing.

Weeds, leaking roof, leaking windows, etc. Funny how I forgot about all the potential crap when I bought a house. GRRR.

Oh, Kate, sorry about the leaks. I know how that goes.

Yesterday afternoon at about four o'clock we got thunder, lightning and heavy rain for 30 minutes. Then the sun came out. And with it one of the most beautiful rainbows I have ever seen. Could see the full arch stretching from the north to the south.

Lovely.

WOW! Getting pounded up here in North Scottsdale! Some thunder as well, but mainly just a real steady, prolonged downpour!

I don't know how far I am from you, but it didn't get that bad over here. I did hear thunder once though.

July will be here soon enough and we'll be begging for rain and these kind of temperatures.
