I went to bed early last night and I'm glad I did.
Checking my yard this morning tells me I didn't get anything last night.
I would have been very disappointed.

My wife is officially a Phoenician. She used to laugh at me in previous summers when I'd get excited about the weather. Last night she had radar pulled up on her laptop and went bonkers when the storm hit. Well, I did, too. The wind knocked our sliding glass door to the patio over. We also watched a lawn chair get launched. We were getting so many microbursts one after the other, and I would guess those downdrafts were hitting us at about 70+ MPH ... I was getting knocked off my feet trying to get the patio door back on its track. Gee, if you find a blue web-structure type lawn chair, please send me a PM. (I'm near Superstition Springs Mall, but that chair was launched!)

Anyway, my Arizona room was flooded and my backyard looks like the wetlands today. A lot of standing water. I'm trying to move it around today onto the rocks so we don't end up with a mosquito farm. I don't know how much rain other people got, but we were absolutely soaked. It rained in sheets off and on for about 3 hours. I had everything turned off, so I didn't get to play with y'all last night. Looks like it was fun!

I hope it doesn't rain where I am camping this weekend. And I most certainly hope there isn't any thunder and lightning like last night. I will freak.

Looks like we have a really good shot at more storms tonight. Forecast has it as Thunderstorms Likely (60%) and then this comment in the area discussion.

...SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WITH STRONG GUSTY DAMAGING WINDS ARE POSSIBLE IN SOUTH-CENTRAL ESPECIALLY IN THE DESERT AREAS INCLUDING THE GREATER PHOENIX AREA WITH LOCALLY HEAVY RAIN TONIGHT...

Ya I was suprised to see the NWS be that specific, but hey they're scientists, so they must know something.

Looks like we (and maybe you too Gee, they just added El Mirage to the places that should get rain) are in for some good storms tonight. Already discussion about issuing a severe thunderstorm watch for the area and flash flood watches are up for then entire NE part of the state.

Just came out about an hour ago:

SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 549 IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1000 PM PST
FOR THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS

ARIZONA COUNTIES INCLUDED ARE

COCHISE GILA GRAHAM
GREENLEE MARICOPA PIMA
PINAL SANTA CRUZ

AREAS NOT INCLUDED

EL MIRAGE

Careful dude... Claiming the Cards make a "side" better is a pretty tough arguement to win... :bang:

Naw, win or lose, but mostly lose, I dont have to go to the other side of the Valeey to see my favorite team play.. And its in the best stadium in the NFL.. :D
