This is as close as they would let me get cause if I went about 200 yards further west the waves were going in peoples houses and the water was about mid-door height on a Dodge Neon. Whenever it rains this hard this fast in my neighborhood one stretch, which is the lowest area, just gets hammered. The drains just can't handle that much water that fast.

And this is my backyard.....the water at its deepest point cause of running off my roof got to 8 inches.

That's good stuff man, crazy flooding!

Birth to 32, Phoenix. Now, enemy territory.

I greatly desire to respond to this, but it would belong in the P&R forum.

Suffice to say, I don't know a single native who has, or ever will refer to that mountain or freeway by that name. Please wag the finger somewhere else.

To get this thread back on track...

About the only thing I miss from Phoenix are the awesome thunderstorms. I'm glad for you guys that you're actually getting good storms this year, instead of the clouds that break up as they hit the urban heat island.

Let the good times roll...

Hey, what happened to the Weather Underground website? Yesterday it was fine, today -- poof! What's everybody's other favorite local/regional radar site?

I actually like the Weather Channel the best. Their new maps are awesome. You can put the marker on your house by zooming, then see how close the storms are to you and if they are gonna hit.

weatherchannel.com? Do they have Nexrad? I liked all the technical readout stuff on VIL and storm cells, and all the bright colors. LOL

It's back up -- they must have forgotten to pay the phone bill or something. Phew. It's much more detailed than the other ones.

There is a nice build up to the far southeast, heading this way.
Hopefully it stays together, and makes it to the valley.

50% chance of rain in the the next 24 hours -- that's like 100% anywhere else. Plus, my new handyman is supposed to come repair the screen porch tomorrow.

I know! I'll wash the kitchen floor -- that almost always works.

I just walked outside and I have rain!
It's not much but I'll take it.
It has officially rained at my house when I can feel the drops and my dog will not join me in the front yard,
Both criteria were met.

I live in Laveen and it hit us pretty hard last night. The thunder woke me up at 1:30am and was so close that it shook the house.

It started to rain and thunder after 6:00PM last night and continued throughout the night. It was a very good soaker and a great lightning display. I hope we get more today.

I guess I did also MO. I live between Goodyear and Buckeye and I didn't hear a thing last night, but my dog was like a hooker in church, so something must have been going on.

Bah. barely a damp spot, and today's promised storms appear to have vanished like a DBack's lead in the ninth inning.
