Not that you are wrong or anything, but I'm curious where you have your weather station.

Was only 108 at my house in Chandler, 106 at AZCentral...hard to believe it got to 115 at your house, but not everywhere.

Which brings up an interesting question.
Official records for PHX are taken at the airport.
Where at the airport are they taken?
In the middle of the the (concrete) runways, at the tower, somewhere in the riverbed?

My neighbor recorded a high of 102 today here in North Scottsdale...

The temperature recording at the airport has long been a point of contention with meteorologists. If I'm not mistaken it's on the roof, near heat-absorbing tiles or something like that.

It's in the heart of a heat island, anyhow.

I hit 105 in late afternoon yesterday, in N Scottsdale 1/2 mile off Scottsdale Rd.

A little bit of action to the east right now, I see a dust storm potentially moving across Queen Creek soon, and that outflow seems to be popping up some more storms...

Hopefully moving west.

It's in my entry way, out of direct sun. It's about eye high..

Something is causing it to be high, but I can't figure it out. I get some accurate readings during the winter. I can't believe it was really 115.

EDIT: I just checked it and it is 105 right now, which matches the internet.... so I don't know what happened yesterday

Sure nothing hits it during the day for a bit? Mine was on the side of the house for a bit until I realized the neighbors window was reflecting sun on it, that jumped the temps up.

I'm at 106 right now.

btw, Mike -- how do you like the set-up you bought, now that you've had it for awhile?

It looks like Tucson is getting hit pretty good right now.

It has some issues. The rain gauge I have on top of a pole where my wind sensor is, but I think high winds makes the rain gauge shake, which gives me false readings. I need to fix that.

And sometimes the sensor that beams it to the base station cuts out, not sure why. It's gotten worse, but still doing okay.

I love having it though, so great to see all that stuff.

Been good at my place...over 3/10 of an inch of rain, lots of lightning.

Just took some shots out in the desert of lightning, hoping some turned out.
