Um, according to this article HERE, from NASA, heat islands do have an impact on precipitation. It increases precipitation over and down wind of a heat island.

Those bastards in Casa Grande and Florence are getting all our monsoon!

Nice.

What kind of camera is it that you use for great night shots?

They are both stupid point and shoot cameras. One of them has a nice auto ISO setting and a continuous shot mode, which takes like 2-3 shots every second up to 100 in a row. So I use that to capture lightning. For now.

The other is a better point and shoot, but no cont. shot mode...but it has a nighttime setting and the one of the lights and the moon I used for that one.

Hoping to get a Canon Rebel soon with the ability to control shutter time, etc. I want to be able to do time lapse stuff, which really makes lightning shots better.

I love Saturday morning storms.

I usually agree....but on days when you are helping a friend move from North Phoenix to Gilbert...morning rain isn't the best.

This is soooooooo FRUSTRATING! There is a beautiful, BIG line of storms about 10 miles or so to the east of me, but they just won't come down off the mountains!!! I can see them. Can see the lightening and hear the rumbles of thunder, but they just won't come down!!!! Uggghhhhhh!!!!! :bang:

Wow. Incredible wind and an amazing lightening show. Getting hit with some rain but I think it's simply be blown down off the mountains... This is strange.........
