I'm not happy that the Cardinals lost Chris Jones. I thought he looked like the best young CB on the roster, but I think the difference was that the team was obviously more invested in giving Murphy PT, wanted an established veteran across from Peterson, and wanted someone who plays special teams for the last spot.

But damn, Chris Jones showed some outside corner ability.

Cardinals signed K Mike Nugent to the practice squad.

In 2009, Nugent kicked in two games for the Cardinals when Neil Rackers was hurt, converting both field-goal attempts and all eight extra-point attempts.

In his career, the 38-year old has kicked 258 field goals at an 81 percent conversion rate, and 378 extra points in 168 games. Last season, he kicked in four games with the Patriots, making 5-of-8 field goals and 15-of-16 extra points.

He's a solid veteran and a familiar face in the locker room. This is a good add, especially when you take advantage of the new practice squad rules

He’s been with Seattle the last few years so maybe a little insight on Metcalf and Lockett’s weakness/tendencies. If nothing more he’s another vet and probably good friends with Nuke going back to their Clemson days.
