We're taking off in a couple weeks.. If you're doubting this team, this is your chance to get both legs off before we get the ball rolling because we will have no use for you once the season starts.

I'm a noob in this board, but i'm pretty sure i'm not the only one tired of all these posts about how we're going to be awful after a preseason loss.

We are Cardinals and we do NOT have half-assed fans!

We do NOT give up!

I would assume you didn't make any games at SunDevil Stadium when less than 20,000 Cardinal fans actually showed up. Or that you must have missed the 2003 season when the Cards sold all of 17,500 season tickets.

Arizona is full of fair weather fans. Just like a lot of places. The Cards are just the only NFL team with NO prior success to offset the failures.

Not to excuse anything for the Cards, but I was living in Dallas during the last Tom Landry-coached season, and resulting 1-15 year. I could NOT BELIEVE how fast the Cowboys' fans swan dived off of the bandwagon...it was just disgusting. They disowned that team so fast...of course, they all came back in droves once they started winning again. Nobody can tell me they have "loyal" fans...

I'll admit, i was a bit under the effects when i posted this..

But my position on people who are scared of a couple preseason losses remains the same: Get both feet off the bandwagon already.

I don't think that people are scared of preseason losses as much as the fact that:

1. This team has lost 10 or more games the last 4 seasons
2. Our 2nd and 3rd round picks not only show no chance of starting, but have shown very little talent or potential, period
3. Our 2005 8th overall pick just got benched and responded with a stinkbomb the next game
4. We're rolling the dice with a DC whose schemes have hemmoraghed points every time they've taken the field.

at this rate the local blackouts will be back in 08' :D

If anyone does decide to jump off of the wagon, could you PLEASE transfer the tickets to me instead. I would love to not have to suffer a couple of years or more in the upper deck, before I'd make it to the lower bowl.

This team has a bandwagon?

Really, didn't know they did either. I have stuck with this team since 1967. I am critical of them and although I could care less about our preseason losses I am very concerned about our D this year.

The true measure of loyalty is I will not miss watching a game. I will not stop watching if they lose. I will have the same feeling before the start of each game and will look forward to each game.

But I will reserve the right to criticize and may predict a loss although I will hope like hell they win.

If that keeps me off this bandwagon so be it.

Now I'm confused. By being off this bandwagon, do you mean you are on the "I'm off the bandwagon" bandwagon or are you on the "I'm on the bandwagon" bandwagon, or exactly which bandwagon are you on or off of?;)

Can I be on the bandwagon but have reservations on how good the team will be this year?

Seriously, this on/off bandwagon stuff is lame. Apparently, if you're a true fan, you mindlessly believe your team is the best and should be in the Super Bowl?

I've been a season ticket holder for a decade. I've seen one season above .500 during that time. I've learned to lower my expectations and utilize a "wait and see" approach. I pray that by the time it cools down in mid October and the tailgate is awesome, the season isn't over . . .

We win 9 or 10 games this year! Feel free to bump this thread late season so I can gloat a little bit! Ha I think we will be pretty solid, by solid I mean better than last season and good coaching alone should win us a few more games! Go Cards!!!! I will be rooting in section 104 EVERY GAME!!!!!

We have no bandwagon...In or out. Good or bad....The bandwagon will arrive if we start winning games. We the Cardinal fan are NOT riding a wagon. We could be on the wagon or of the wagon if we were talking about patron tequila. As for me here is looking at you kid.

When you're a Card, you're a Card all the way;
from when you first read the Bard (?) 'til your last dying day

or maybe

from when the season first is marred 'til someone else gets the Lombard..ay

Now that everyone is safely off the bandwagon, I have fixed it so that you don't have to worry about getting on it again.

Its so much fun being a Cardinal fan.

A real funny guy told me just the other day that the reason the Cardinals got the University of Phoenix as the stadium sponsor is because they figured you had to be dumb to still be a Cardinal fan and we could use some education.

Of course I hit him, do you think I'm stupid.

You have summarized this very well. If you say anything negative about one of the worst sports franchises in history you aren't a true fan. At least to some people.

I am convinced many would be cheering for the Titanic as it was sinking.
