Oh, and Lionel Messi is THE best footballer in the world, Ronaldo be damned.

Messi is pure quality no doubt... best in the world? nope.. Ronaldo...

Messi is the best dribbler for sure... takes people on and makes them just look stupid but a good example was against REAL all you have to do is push him wide and isolate him he needs to learn to distribute a little bit after all he is playing with eto, henry and xavi....

Ronaldo is the total package... can blast by someone, jump pver them for a header and score crazy freekicks.. messi is not there yet....

What an EPL homer... ;)

Ronaldo is good, but I've seen him a couple times this season and he hasn't done anything to compare with what Messi has done. But like I said, I haven't seen him as much as Messi.

Copa del Rey Final

Athletic Bilbao 1-4 Barcelona

Barca are 1/3 of the way to winning The Treble (actually 2/3 because winning La Liga is all but assured).

Força Barça!

Most people, especially here in the US and in England (of course), aren't giving Barcelona ANY chance to win this game. Their mistake, IMO.

Hey? Where are you getting that from? Most people i've talked to think Barca will beat Man U.

I've seen a few random fans say that, but ManU is definitely the favorite with a majority of people. Many are saying that ManU is one of the greatest teams in the history of the sport!

They base that on the fact that they think the EPL is so much better than La Liga. An opinion I do not share.

I don't think you argue that the Prem is better than La Liga right now. The amount of English teams in the last stages of the Champions league the last few years is proof enough.

I think it's a given that Manchester is one of the greatest teams in the history of the sport or do you mean greatest ever Manchester team? if so I think if you went through this lineup and the 99 team you could make an argument that this years team in every position except maybe Keane, Scholes & Giggs (younger versions) and Schmeichel...

I expect a great battle with Barca and they aren't no joke for sure... but saying La Liga is better than the prem is crazy...

Hmm, I didn't say that, I said I don't agree that the Prem is better than La Liga. And honestly, you are a big Prem fan, so it's hard to discuss this issue with anyone who is a big fan of either league. Only when discussing with neutrals can there be a truly un-biased discussion.

I don't think anybody really has enough information to honestly compare the two leagues because there are only a few matches a year between the two, if that. Personally, I think La Liga is a much more eye-pleasing brand of soccer and the Prem is more of a thug league. Both leagues are the best in the world (with Serie A and Bundesliga close behind).

Is La Liga better than the Premiership? I don't know, but I enjoy watching La Liga more than the Prem.

I agree with that. I would prefer to watch Italian football as well. But that is just my personal preference.

Yeah, it's like every even year there is an international tournament. In 2008, it was Euro, in 2010 it is the World Cup. In 2012 it will be Euro again. And 2014 will be the World Cup again. And so on and so on.

I'll watch La Liga... On our weekly radio show the other guy I do it with never watches the prem and is a huge Madrid fan so we go back and forth on which is better quite a bit... I always let him know if you like a nice flashy game of football where they have no idea how to play defense and tackle then la liga is for you... if you want the total package of skill, speed and hard tackles then it's the prem all the way...

you wont see scores like 7-1, 8-0 like you will see on a more consistent basis in La Liga so each to it's own i guess... I will say I enjoy Bundesliga way more than Serie A

Anelka won the scoring title in the Prem with 19 goals. With a week to go, there are 5 players in La Liga who have scored at least 20 goals and there are 4 other players with either 18 or 19 goals.

I like watching the Premier League, but the style they play in La Liga is the way that football is meant to be played, IMO.

I like that you have a softened stance, but there are a couple veiled insults in there. :D

So because goals are spread throughout the whole team (lets not forget it is a TEAM sport) that makes the Prem worse? The average goals per game is fairly close between the two leagues.

Football is MEANT to be played in whatever way gets your team the win. Once you have that, then you can work on the extras. Just ask Arsenal fans, beautiful football - no trophy for four years now.

Arsenal doesn't have a trophy because they don't practice the thuggery the rest of the Prem does. That's pretty obvious.

So, when they were winning titles with the same style of play . . . . ?

They are young and have had the worst of the injuries out of the top four teams for the last couple of years. They need a central defender and probably a top keeper, but next year is the last chance Wenger has to use the youth excuse. Vela needs to make the step up in attack too.

I really haven't seen much thuggery in the Prem. Maybe its because I watch lower league football and it is A LOT worse. I would prefer tough tackling defenders to ones that dive and fake injuries like Puyol (and I like Barca).
