NAU opened with a tough schedule - losing at Kansas, and at Arizona, but beating ASU in Tempe.

Next up: At San Francisco on the 27th.

And NAU had another game in between - stupid Yahoo....

NAU beat Mississippi Valley State 104-77 Saturday night to improve to 3-2.

Face San Francisco tonight.

NAU drops a game at San Francisco, 82-73.

Next up - UNLV in Flagstaff, December 2nd.

I was there from 95-98. The Andrew Mavis years...that guy was a stud. Worked in the SID there so got to know them pretty well. Coach Howland was a great guy...I loved that basketball team.

NAU claimed a share of the Big Sky Conference Regular Season Championship last night after beating Northern Colorado.

NAU and Weber both finished 11-5.

NAU's record heading into the Big Sky tourney is 17-11, and is on a five game win streak.

Weber gets the #1 seed based on sweeping the season series from NAU.


NAU's loss in January at Northern Colorado killed their outright title chances.

Big Sky Tourney play starts Saturday in Ogden, Utah. As the #2 seed, NAU gets a first round bye.

Weber gets the #1 seed based on sweeping the season series from NAU.

But winning the tourney gets them a berth in the NCAA tourney.

7:05 p.m. - No. 6 Idaho State (13-16) at No. 3 Montana (16-14)

Semifinals - Tuesday, March 6
At Dee Events Center, Ogden, Utah
TBA - Highest Remaining Seed vs No. 2 Northern Arizona (17-11)
TBA - Lowest Remaining Seed at No. 1 Weber State (18-11)

Final - Wednesday, March 7
7:00 p.m. (Mountain) - Semifinal Winners - Televised by ESPN2

NAU up 11 at the half. Would be nice to see two Arizona schools representing the state in the NCAA tournament.
