Spain looking impressive, just need to finish.

They were definitely impressive in that exchange.

It is amazing to me how well this team passes. They are deceptive and use one touch passing as well as I have seen in the WC.

****ing refs, first Mueller out of it for 2 yellow cards that both were utter jokes.

A penalty and red card for Ramos not given.

A foul on Lahm when he clearly played the ball first and resulted in a corner and goal for Spain.

Then AGAIN an obvious foul just outside the box for a great freekick position not given.

****ing World Cup amateur refs.

LOL Not surprising. I admittedly was not able to watch the first half, but I counted at least 3 clear dives by German players in the 2nd half. So stop your whining because the officiating went both ways.

Hey Rode, where are you at in The Netherlands? I lived for a year down south, near Maastricht.
I'm in Ridderkerk, a town just outside of Rotterdam, Feyenoord supporter of course. Bert van Marwijk was our head coach when we won our last major price, the Uefa cup in '02, so i'm a Van Marwijk fan.

Maastricht and surroundings is such a beautiful piece of Holland. Friendly people mostly, way more than in other parts of Holland. I visited the Valkenburg mines not too long ago. Werd you here on business or something like that?

On-topic. Spain it is. I honestly believe we have more chance against them than we would have had against the Germans. The reason why i say this is because even though i think overall the Germans have a slightly better team than we have, we have the speed and individual skills and action of Robben. The Germans didn't have that. They needed to play though Schweinsteiger and Khedira to reach their forwards, we can skip that and go straight to Robben deep. We have a chance, especially if Spain continues their scoring problems.

Valkenburg was actually about 5 miles from where I was living at the time. I was pretty young, only 15/16, my dad was in the military. He actually spent a lot of time in Rotterdam in 1991, he coordinated a lot of the US Military deployment to the Middle East and Desert Storm from Rotterdam.

I agree, but they said the same thing about Germany. The Spanish just dominated the ball and the Dutch are going to have a tough time getting possession. It was a great game.

My #2 and #3 teams in the finals. Very cool. Only thing that would be better is if the US was there.

Germany looked plain worn out. Couldnt even jump at the end for the crosses.

England/Argentina coupled with a tough group will do that.

I am just glad we will have a first time World Cup winner! I really like both teams, always have, I don't have rooting interest in either team so I am just hoping for a great match.

As for the third place game...GO URUGUAY

I'd love to see Suarez get a hat trick.

You have to love World Cup soccer. Where a team can never lose a game and go home without even making the final 16.

Furthermore, it was an unequivocally win for New England futball as well.

A country that historicly speaking never has done anything wrong should not be allowed to be eliminated from the World Cup.

We have found the key to winning the World Cup: Legalize Gay Marriage!!

Both Spain and Netherlands allow gay marriage :)
