Hayes is not a run stuffing MLB our run D didnt get any better when Hayes was starting.
Respectfully disagree.

Hayes is a step up into the gap, run stuffing MLB. And I think we did play better agains the inside run when I saw him in there.

But that doesn't mean he's learned all the nuances of the position and would be ready to start full-time.

I think Hartwell would definitely be a significant upgrade over MacDawg and a better option right now than Hayes.

I would like to see the Cardinals bring in some decent free agents instead of all these second rate guys. We have no need for Hartwell or Okeafor. We have two players that are just as good or better in Gerald Hayes and Calvin Pace. Where are the bigtime free agents. We have the money to get at least a couple of top guys and then a few of the regular free agents. We haven't brought in one top guy yet. It's one thing to spend wisely and then it's another to not spend at all.

I disagree. Hartwell is definately not a second rate MLB, he's top 10, maybe top 6 in the league.(Ray, Takeo, Urlacher, Bruschi, Sharper) I think Hart is right in that group. The only reason some folks don't give him the recognition he deserves is because Ray Lewis is right next to him, guess which guard the NT blocks on most plays? Ray's, leaving Hartwell to shed and get to the ball, which he is damn good at. I will do cartwheels if we sign him. It'll be great to have an awesome LB corp FINALLY!

I'd still draft A. Rolle, or D. Johnson, make us a destructive defense. Oh yeah I'm excited!
