The sack to Orakpo wasn't Levi's fault. It wasn't King's fault, either.
It was Grimm's fault. That was a stupid scheme move to try to block Sackpo with a TE, no matter how good at blocking the TE is.
Good post. Shows that most of the posters on here who constantly complain about our o-line, "It's the worst in the league!" etc. don't know what they're talking about.
I'm curious of what it will take for Jeremy Bridges to take over Brandon Keith's spot. He's always looked to be the more competent starter.
The interior line is actually admirable, but the edge blockers are just awful. Levi Brown is always ranked towards the bottom of the league in sacks/pressures allowed, and from watching Keith, he's gonna be on that list as well. During Grimm's tenure, practically all of his linemen are listed on the most pressures allowed per drop back, so certainly it's a coaching issue, and a talent evaluation issue. Would Brown or Keith be starting tackles on any other team? Probably not.lol... because an arizona beat writer says so and PFF says it based on one game? do you take them for gospel when they'll eventually show some negative about our team?
I don't think anyone says the O-line is the worst in the league. I think people say our Offensive TACKLES are the worst in the league.
everyone seem to be in pretty much unanimous agreeement that the interior of the line pretty solid.
but hey, why bother actually discussing what people are actually saying when you can win an argument by painting everything in black and white terms.
Keith has been atrocious this year, but he was showing signs of being a very good RT before his injury last year.
I think the staff is trying to see if he can live up to the potential he showed prior to his injury before pulling the plug on him. So far it doesn't look too good for Keith.
I think the staff also likes having Bridges be available as a backup, since Keith is not a LT and if Bridges starts at RT, you effectively have no proven LT backup.
In market research lingo (when there's a scarcity of meaningful info) folks often authenticate their source as representing "the best information available."I don't have any faith at all in PFF's analysis of anything. It's one game charter's opinion acting like statistical analysis. What does +6.0 even mean?
I often label a team's O-line as a whole, which is where ours becomes extremely suspect. Left side or right we can't have blindside hits like that, I don't care what QB you have back there. This O-line is not whole, different guys suck in different ways and it hurts us bad in the long run/ span of a game. O-line is an issue, and I drink more koolaid than most.
Really? I thought he was struggling significantly before going out.Keith has been atrocious this year, but he was showing signs of being a very good RT before his injury last year.
That is true. I think they have taken 3 OL(Brown, Big and Lutui) above round 3 in the last 10-12 years. The coaches and front office have no one to blame for the inadequate depth at tackle but themselves!

I share K9's skepticism re Pro Football Focus, but at least they're goIng to the trouble of grading out each position play by play. At the very least, you could say that their info provided stuff we'd otherwise not have and can form the basis for beginning to think analytically about performance at a given position.
It's certainly equally as valid as saying: "so and so sucks."
