Plot Summary

Plot Outline After being kidnapped and imprisoned for 15 years, Oh Dae-Su is released, only to find that he must find his captor in 5 days.
Plot Synopsis: An average man is kidnapped and imprisoned in a shabby cell for 15 years without explanation. He then is released, equipped with money, a cellphone and expensive clothes. As he strives to explain his imprisonment and get his revenge, he soon finds out that not only his kidnapper has still plans for him, but that those plans will serve as the even worse finale to 15 years of imprisonment.

I just watched it. What an odd and disturbing movie. Some of the scenes are intensely gruesome. I almost gagged when he was eating the live octopus. I did enjoy it though. Tarantino is a huge fan of this movie and I can see why.

Great film. I'm a big fan of Korean cinema and this definitely didn't disappoint. The hallway fight scene is one of the best you'll ever see.

I agree though that it isn't for everyone, it's not a simple revenge story. Some very disturbing themes involved.
