Please only post if you think Kolb will do OK. That simple, no yardage or whatever. Post if you dig Kevin. If this thread offends you then start another thread about how much I suck, but please don't pollute to pollute. Kolb fans are safe here.

I like me some Skelton so don't get it twisted.

I believe Kolb will do okay as long as he is healthy. Hopefully that wasn't too negative for you.

I am just re watching all our games from last season, and Kolb isnt anywhere near as bad as I remembered, where Skelton was truely horrible at times.
anyway I think an injury free Kolb will do the job and be a solid QB for us.

the key words there are injury free

My only frustration with the guy is also the root of his problems: Inability to stay in the pocket.

Guy splits, every-friggin-time, as soon he sees his 1st option is covered. Roll out. Regardless of whether or not the line is holding up. That effectively destroys the play and turns the situation into a park pickup game where everyone is scrambling around.

If he fixes that, hes got a shot to do well, but the guy has to stay in the pocket. Everything depends on it. His accuracy, his health, his claim to be starter, depends on staying in the pocket.

I think a lot of that came from not knowing the offense well enough with a good off season he will improve, Skelton knew the offense better and felt more confident in the pocket, Kolb will be better as he learns more

I'm a Kolb guy. He's just another player looked down upon by the media who has no real feel or for the team and fans on here who know significantly less than they think they do about football in general. I like Skelton dont get me wrong, but when he's healthy, Kolb is undeniably better. With a year to learn the system, I'm really hoping he can stay healthy and prove the naysayers wrong.

I firmly believe that Kolb will be much improved this year with the added time to learn and employ our offensive system. My greatest fear with Kolb is his history of concussion injuries. I pray that he doesn't suffer any recurrence of that type of injury this year.

I think Kolb will do just fine as long as he stays away from the injury bugaboo. The concussion thing is like a dark cloud hovering over him. As long as he can keep from getting his head whacked he should do the job for the team.

If he stays injury free and our o-line can give him time he will be fine. Also have no worries if Skelton ends up playing. The experience he received last year should help him a lot.

This is my feelings. Fix the running out of the pocket and I will give him a chance to lead our team. If he can't stay in the pocket put in the next guy.

Hopefully, after a year and training camp, they'll have gotten the Philly scramble out of him. If so, I think he'll be fine.

One of the things that Kolb has picked up, since coming to Arizona, is how to make a mean salsa. I'm sure that'll improve his game.

I'm optimistic and trying not to get overly so. I'm probably one of the few fans who, while loving Skelton's upside, thinks Kolb is obviously a better QB--at this stage in their careers--and that it's not even close, statistically. Skelton put up the wins and that makes the statistics irrelevant. However, he also had the huge benefit of having a defense who had his back and was learning how to play, while Kolb had them when they were still newbs.

In any case, I'm actually optimistic. I think he's going to surprise the majority of people.

Barring injury I think KK is going to do well. If not then he is not the guy and then we move on.

I like Skelton too, this isn't about that. In fact, in some ways, this reminds me of the Beurlein/Chandler competition.... In that case I liked both QB's but I felt Beurlein was better for the big picture....just like Kolb today.

Either way, I want to see us win. That's the bottom line. But the nonsensical vitriol directed at Kolb is outlandish and frankly, childish.

I'm not that optimistic after finding out about the limitations the new CBA put on off season work. But we'll see.

Anyone know if there are limitations on QBs and WRs working on their own? I know in the past several QB/WR groups would work hours on their own on timing and other things.

One WR had a net put up and had his QBs throw balls high or low or wide so he could practice catching less than perfect passes.

Agree. And I'll point out that both Kolb and Skelton have handled this situation well.

The common discussion about Kolb that I've heard from both local and national media members was that he needs to learn the system, specifically noting how complex Whis' system is to figure out. Literally, Kolb had a month to figure it out with no OTAs, minicamp, and rapport building opportunities with his new teammates.

Remember, he was working out with the Eagles all offseason until the trade.

If Kolb has a much better pocket feel and dosen;t run to the right while escaping, he has talent to get this far. There is something there that make the Cards and Eagles think he can be a winner. I'll support him with all my heart but, if he should not live up to all the hype that caused us to pay a high ransom, I still like both our guys.

Kolb will be the starter. He will have a good/great year. In other words, just above average. He will still be adjusting and getting used to the offense and it's weapons.

One thing that will literally, bring him down, is the O-line. The O-line will be better though, and it will reflect in Kolbs performance. I expect him to miss a couple of games due to injury.
