What a slaughter. Looks like a Cards-Rams game.

Just want to say on behalf of Sooner fans, that we have the utmost respect for Pete Carroll and his team. They out-coached and out-played Bob Stoops and the Sooners. USC fans, from what I've read and seen on the internet and TV, are a classy group, and USC, as a football team, a fan base, and an institution, represented itself very, very well tonight.

They deserve the title "2004 National Champions".

It was an honor to play in the Orange bowl, although it was a disappointing result. However, the season as a whole, was not disappointing for OU. We looked forward to competing for and winning, another Big XII South Championship in 05'.

Interesting tid bit from the announcers saying that Leinart was leaning torwards staying at USC rather than going pro this year. I know he said that at the Heisman trophy presentation but I'm not so sure that when the temptation of being a top 5 pick comes that he'll be able to say no.

Lienart and his Father have both been quoted as saying that they are leaning toward staying in school. I for one think they are full of it. One, becuase all players never say there real intentions before a bowl game especially if they are coming out early becuase if they do say they are coming out early there will be that much more pressure and media hounding them. Second, it isnt good for moral of your team going into a major bowl knowing your leader is leaving them.

Once Leinart realizes he will be a top 5 pick and stand to make some major bucks he will come out.

USC is just the better team. Both offense and defense. Plus Carrol is no slouch as a defensive coach.

Exactly and I think he just answered that in his post game interview when asked about coming back for another year. He said, "I have a tough decision to make"

Sports cliche translation: "I made up my mind, I'm going pro"

When in doubt, he's coming out.

The sick thing is USC was even better last year, , Bush and White of course weren't as valuable as freshmen but they had Mike Williams and Kerry Colbert, a first round DE, Will Poole, Herschel Dennis(suspended). But they lost to Cal and didn't get into the BCS title game so they had to settle for taking apart Michigan. If you look at the scores and the margin of victory they were quite a bit better last year.

Carroll has that program in overdrive, I'm not a USC fan but they sure are fun to watch.

What would Leinart have to gain by staying? Already has two NC and the Heisman. His college career is over, IMHO.

He may be the rare guy that actually wants his degree, but then I think he's a redshirt junior(not sure).

I agree he's probably coming out but he and his dad have both said publicly he's not.

What a great performance By USC. OU was clearly overmatched. As a Sooner fan I would Like to offer my respect to the whole USC football program.

I'm sure people will start trashing OU as they did last year but the fact is OU has a great team, just not as good as USC, and that's no embarassment, USC is really good.

The other thing that blew me away in this game was how a team like OU can come into a NC game, and not know what shoes to wear? It was blatantly obvious in the first half they had guys wearing the wrong shoes, Bradley and Clayton kept slipping down. Peterson did a couple of times. USC had some guys slip too I guess the field was slick or something, but it was apparent that USC's players had better footing. Just seems that OU should have worked out enough on that field prior to last night to know what shoes to wear?

At least 2 of White's picks were directly related to a WR slipping down.

OU deserves all the trashing they get. They blatantly quit with about twenty minutes of football left.
To their credit I guess they didn't take any cheap shots toward the end like some teams do, but at the same time they don't need to be congratulating USC on the win with 9 minutes left in the third quarter. What a piss poor showing by OU.

This is what I'm thinking. OverratedU just didn't play with any heart. Were they totally outclassed by the Trojans? Yeah, but they didn't even put up a fight to make it look like they belonged in that game. Go back to No-heart, OK and lick your wounds so that you can play another soft schedule, (maybe) win your weak, overrated conference, and appear in another BCS game.

Is there a more overrated coach in football than Bob Stoops? His teams are highly ranked because the guy can recruit and they play 10 home games a season, but against an equal team on a neutral field, his teams melt down.

Well I missed about half of the 3rd quarter and half the 4th so I didn't see a lot of that time.

So you're probably right. It was the shoes I tell you.

They overheard Stoops mention something about the laces being out, and the collective 8% graduation rate got all rattled.

Terrific job by Bo Pelini and the secondary as well.

Key issue could turn out to be Supply & Demand - i.e. what the QB crop will be like next year?

This is a lean year for QB's in the draft (no Roethlisbergers, Mannings or Rivers). Therefore, Leinart might be rated #1 coming out this year vs. #2 or #3 coming out next year.

Yeah, that makes me a little nervous considering he has said he will take the Syracuse job if it's offered to him. It's even rumored that he's already started assembling a staff...

Agreed. He'd be crazy not to come out now. The only thing that can happen next year is he could get hurt, or he could play worse than he did this year and hurt his draft position. He impressed a lot of people with his performance last night, he'd be nuts to not capitalize on it.

Thats kinda unfair. I mean look at the Pac-10 outside of USC. They havent done squat and dont win any of their bowl games. I am not an OU fan, but they arent anymore overrated than any of these Pac-10 wussie schools.

ASU won their bowl game against Purdue, which was unexpected. The Pac 10 had the second-best bowl record among conferences, and the national champion.

I'm disappointed.

oooh..sorry.

I thought you might hate them b/c they are a rival of Nebraska.

To be fair I didnt watch the 4th quarter so if they gave up I didnt see it.

To be fair, OU's performance wasn't nearly as bad as Ashlee Simpson's at Halftime!

I heard this morning that she's claiming there was an equipment malfunction, she couldn't hear the music or herself singing, so she was offkey. Believe me Ashlee, you're LUCKY you couldn't hear yourself. Just go away and let us look at Jessica.
